Halo 2 Bumper Jumper with reload and swap on B and Y?

I can not get this controller to configure properly in Halo 2. When you set bumper jumper, for some reason the DPad is mapped to reload and weapon swap.

INCREDIBLY annoying by the way... who wants to have to stop moving to reload, pickup, and swap weapons???

It should be mapped to Y and B after setting bumper jumper.

I tried changing the option at the top of the controller setup options between the 3 modes, "Reach, Halo 2 CE, etc..."

One of these appears to set the buttons exactly where I want them, but I cannot save. There is no option after changing.

Please tell me I am just dumb and there is a way to set bumper jumper, and weapon swap and reload to Y and B. Having to use the DPAD ruins the game to the point where I can't even play it.

Check the "Universal bumper jumper" binding.

i am experiencing a similar problem with Halo Reach. The option for Halo 2 controls is available and when i change it to Halo 2 there is no save option, so when i go back into the game it defaults back to Halo Reach controls which i don't even want to learn. PASS. There is also no way to get in touch with a developer so they can fix the problem in the next update

Yep, that's the issue. Would be great if I couod get some useful information on how to fix this. I definitely won't be buying Halo 3 if I can't get this figured out.
