Can't hear voice chat

Every time I see a voice chat indicator I don't hear anything. I have Voice Chat Volume set to 100 and my channel is set to All. I also have both Halo MCC and the Xbox Game Bar set to my default audio device.

I actually found a solution to this on windows 10
1. Open sound settings
2. Click "manage sound devices" under output
3. Disable all devices besides your preferred speakers or headphones

you can also do the same thing for input devices if your own mic doesn't work

Im pretty sure only setting your actual headphones and mic to default communication devices are the only thing thats needed.

Im pretty sure only setting your actual headphones and mic to default communication devices are the only thing thats needed.

I did that first but for some reason it didn't help, just disabling the other devices altogether fixed it. No idea why

Don't do this, this is stupid. Sounds Settings > Sound Control Panel > Set whatever youre using as your default audio input/output and BOOM it works.

Don't do this, this is stupid. Sounds Settings > Sound Control Panel > Set whatever youre using as your default audio input/output and BOOM it works.

I literally just said I did that first and it didn't work. This solution is for people who did that and the problem persists
