Halo 2 Indestructible Banshees?

Anyone else having this problem? I am literally watching as the rocket launcher hits, blasts the dead elite out of the vehicle...and the banshee keeps on piloting. In this state, it appears to be unkillable even if shooting 5-6 rockets that all directly hit.

Happened to me just now on the 2nd Gondola on the Regret mission, legendary difficulty.

it looks pretty silly, but this is normal in halo2. at some point, however, they die faster. If you use target-seeking rockets, they usually die after 2-4 shots.

It takes two to destroy them. At least when I did my legendary run that's what it took. Haven't had this issue before.

This can happen depending on the pilot, if an ultra is operating the banshee it would take a lot of rocket shots to kill it this is completely RNG, player and vehicle health are somewhat combined in h2.

only halo reach and 4 have vheicles with seperate hit points, 1 only have covenent with health, 2, 3, and ODST will stay running so long the driver is still alive, unless hitting a weak point like halo 3 wraith engine on the back.
