I think they have fixed the art style for Halo Infinite. That much is for sure.
I agree with you, the art style has just completely sucked under 343. It looks so cartoony and bland. Halo 4 was especially ugly.
Everyone was talking about how beautiful Halo 4 was when it came out but at that time I thought the graphics were downright ugly compared to Halo Reach.
Explosions and Covenant explosions were downgraded immensely in 343's games. When a covenant vehicle or ship would explode it looked so cheap in Halo 4.
Honestly I would be fine with an art team redoing the games to make them look more like halo. But if we have to make a halo game between 3 and 4, it would have to show the change in the UNSC, the rise of the storm covenant and set up the events leading into halo 4.
But even if we stretch the time out to 20 years, there are still problems like "why does the Dawn, Chief, weapons and vehicles on board look different?" "Why do the covenant species themselves look so different?" and some others I can't think of.
Depends on how this "new canon" is written. For all you know its worse. Time will tell
Both game are pretty enjoyable imo.
Halo 5 is very bad. There's no point discussing.
