Stuck on Chapter 10: Sacred Icon
One of the final pistons is not working for some reason. There is no interaction to trigger it opening. I have tried restarting the checkpoint and restarting the game and the bug is still there.

Have you tried shooting or bashing it multiple times? Does the classic graphic does not show as well?

I tried shooting and bashing it a couple of times but nothing happened. Also when switching to classic graphics there is still no button to interact with.

Dunno if you found a fix, this just randomly started happening, if you shoot it a whole bunch it seems to activate. The prompt still never shows up though and this seems to stick afterwards meaning any piston that does this will get stuck like this.

I looked around on google for a solution and apparently this bug goes all the way back to when this game was first released on Xbox One. Nobody has really been able to find a solution to it other than hitting the piston or shooting it (unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me). I sent a detailed support ticket to Halo Support hoping they can help me.

I've had to shoot it quite a lot to get it to open, other times it was only a couple shots.

Well I finally got a response from Halo support saying that an update may have fixed the issue since I last played Halo 2. So when I resumed my game it apparently loaded me a few checkpoints back but I was able to get past the bugged piston. So I guess they must have fixed this bug since I last played.

CONFIRMED: on higher levels of difficulty - the "activate piston" button disappears. Instead, you must SHOOT one of the 4 illuminated "things" in the middle of the piston. Multiple shots are required.

confirmed, still a bug in 2024. My piston is greyed out and won't activate
