Forgot email address associated with my halo account - any way to recover the email address through the gamer ID?

Was having some issues so I logged out of my in-game windows account - upon being prompted to log back in the email i was using did not auto-populate and i totally forgot what email i used. I made the email address on a whim when i first started.

...any options for me? I know the halo ID I was using, but i can't figure out how to get the email associated with it. Tried Xbox support, Microsoft support, and Halo Support but none could help. Maybe the email address is buried in the PC program files somewhere?

Did you ever log into any websites (Xbox website, halo waypoint etc) using that Microsoft account in a web browser?
You might be able to see the login info you used, I know chrome has a way if you have autofills enabled.

Not an exploit, you click to show it and it prompts windows UAC to ask you to log into the windows profile first.

Unfortunately, no. I made that email address solely for PC Halo.

luckily u can create new ones for free. just lose all your stats, ranks, and reach armor. lol.

I had the same thing happen to me. I maxed out my character with firefights and then an error required me to reinstall.

sure, i hear you. but i think a recovery system linked to steam accounts would not be unreasonable as a strategy to avoid it altogether. Microsoft said Steam needed to approve the link to my account. Steam said they have nothing to do with the emails created, which is understandable.

I have the same error with my account. I don't know the email but I don't want to lose the username so I'm screwed

Unfortunately, you are. I lost that account and never went back. I hope you find a solution.
