Is Halo 4 and 5's spartan customization as extensive as Reach?
I don't really remember much from Halo 4 and I never played 5. From what I remembered Reach had the most extensive customization for armor. How do the other games handle it?

5 is not part of the MCC, 4 is just, alot of weird armor and artstyle that kinda make it look like power ranger rejects.

No, 4 and 5's customization was you pick a helmet and a body. Halo 3 was Helmet, Shoulders, and Chest.

Reach was the first and last halo game with that level of customization sorry :(

MCC's customization of Halo 4 is just picking an armor set. No Customization outside of that.
On Xbox 360, there were more options than Reach. More Varients and more visor colors, which was nice, but not very true to lore.

and Idc about halo 5, the full game isnt coming to PC, so we don't need to talk about it

Halo 4 expanded some areas like adding tons of visor colors and skins, but it went back to armor sets like Halo 3 which is fine. Only problem with the sets is that A LOT of them suck and don't look very good.

Halo 5 simplified everything to hell for a lootbox economy, making it so there's only the body, visor and helmet + skin variants you can choose from. A lot of the armor sucked in H5 too so it's just worse.

Ah, I remember the Armor Sets and Skins in Halo 4 because that was back when tons of stores had unique pre order bonuses.

You're so wrong it shows that you're here just to ♥♥♥♥ on Halo 4 and praise Halo 3. I'd argue that ODST has worse customization than Halo 5, since you can only pick characters and whether they have helmets on or not.

As for the topic
Halo 4's customization allowed you to change:
Helmets
Left Shoulder
Right Shoulder
Chest Piece
Wrists
Legs
Visor

Halo 5's customization allowed you to change:
Helmet
Armor
Visor

Granted, Halo 5 has much less options, but it was possible to change individual shoulders, chest pieces and leg armors at one point. It was most likely cut due to Warzone, because it'd have been quite taxing on the vanilla Xbox One.

Halo Reach had more options, but overall, Halo 4 would have the second best customization. An interesting contrast is that with Reach's customization, you're always using the Mark V(B) as a base, and you can't change that. The customization adds pieces to it. Whereas Halo 4's customization has you use entirely different armor pieces.

The original Xbox 360 version of Halo 4 had a decent level of customization, not quite on the same level as Reach though.
The MCC version of Halo 4 only has presets of armor. But that will probably change when 4 comes to PC.

I half wonder if the same will occur when Halo 3 comes to PC - I remember it was a good day when I unlocked my Recon armour back on the 360 with the 7 (oh Bungie, you and your 7 addiction) achievements across 3 and ODST. But on console they're all unlocked from the get go.

Quick question - anyone here own the console before it made it's way to PC? Were all the Reach unlockables available from the get go there? What happened when the introduced Season 1?

Console never had Reach until it launched on PC and Console.

Halo Reach's armors have to be unlocked though the Season Pass system. Nothing is unlocked from the get-go. Unlockables include even the Eternal armor effect, which is the rarest armor piece in Halo Reach since it was exclusive to Bungie staff and other certified, noteworthy players (like the folks at Termacious Trickocity).

Can't remember off the top of my head but, Eternal is the Blue fire right? If so I had it in OG Reach on 360.

Correct. Legendary is the red fire, available through pre-orders and special editions.
Congrats!
