Better Marine AI
I love playing and keeping the marine AI alive but I really wish there was like a command system in the game sometimes where I can tell teh marine with the rocket launcher to get in the passenger seat, I also wish the Elite Teammates were ALOT stronger, they shoudl NOT go down as fast as the marines because the armour, and I also for the love of god, wish the marines would follow you better, theres been i dont' know how many times I have lost a marine just by walking too far, I am finding replaying halo 2 on legendary to be the most tedious of the 3 we have atm, Its been forever since I've beaten them

I doubt 343 will balance anything.
The whole game is a mess from what I remember. Though the AI is about as Dumb as they have always been, especially the Marines. They were always pretty useless.

I recommend going to Nexus and trying Ruby's Rebalance M0DS.
they make the game playable. a friend and I have been playing through Halo 2 with them on for our channels on YT, and beat Halo Reach with them on. Currently LASO-ing my way through the game again.

Only saying try the mods, cause I doubt 343 will rebalance anything or fix the AI.

Marines being dumb has been a thing since forever. We only got to see it fully unleashed when Bungie have them the ability to drive.

Even worse they'll shoot at you to get a target if it's in a vehicle while they're in a vehicle.

Yeah this. 343i aren't going to start making changes to the game from something that already works just as it did in the original.

Ruby's rebalanced is great if you like keeping your marines alive. Just turning off friendly fire for the marines makes a huge amount of difference to their survivability when they bunch up together.

Apparently not
They also don’t seem to understand “we will not fix issues the original game had”

To the op, marines get the ai to work out to go in the passenger seat instead of the gunner if they have a heavy weapon in halo 3.
Let me rephrase. i'm looking for a mod. I was under the impression that it was understood but I was wrong and apologize. I cant wait for halo 3 though
I just don't remember it being this bad lol. Its been forevevr since I played this

H2 and H3 friendly ai is the best in the series though for slightly different reasons. definitions of smart vary from player to player though i would consider the ai in these two games largely adequate, though i agree the elites do have a tendency to be rather stupid (especially on legendary in h3) as they are somewhat reckless. halo 2 is already infamously difficult on legendary and correctly utilizing the friendly aimbot ai is one of the best ways for newer players to beat the game.

meanwhile, halo ce and reach have largely useless ai. halo ce ai is very non aggressive and has awful firing patterns, but make good distractions. reach ai is probably the worst in the series for a multitude of reasons such as limited range in vehicles, bad accuracy, inability to evade explosives, etc. and the enemy ai seems to acknowledge this (in my experience, they seem to largely ignore friendly ai if they can shoot you instead).

the game is over a decade old and will not receive developer updates to change these things.

Yeah halo 2 has aim bot marines who will die if they get caught out

Halo 3 marines are big brain 105 iq professional soldiers. I’ve seen these guys kill hunters with their assault rifles on legendary.
dude... everybodyd talking about how bad halo ce ai was... I uh... if you have ever tried to fight them... they are... DEADLY to say the least lol
