So, I completed Legendary on the OG Xbox in college, and don't remember this area being the one that caused me an issue. There are a few areas I remember spending hours in, but this wasn't one of them.

Which leads me to a few questions:

1) How the hell did I manage to beat this map with a controller, let alone a keyboard and mouse?

2) I see a lot of people argue this is the most difficult missions in CE, and other agree in all of Halo. The only thing I can think of is I managed to cheese this mission, but seeing as the Elites bum-rush you cheesing is hard to do.

3) Am I silly in thinking that the Jackle A.I. was upgraded? Every one I come against has the twitch reflexes of a member of some CS GO pro team.

4) Am I silly in thinking that the damage dealt to me is more than before? Does the PC version overall suffer from the frame-rate bug that increases damage? I'm referring to the space battle missions in Reach where if you peak out of any corner you get sniped in a heartbeat. If you lower the frame rate, it somehow got easier.

Thanks!

P.S. To the 12 year olds that will tell me to get good, trust me I know your epeen is huge. Good for you!

Not sure. CE always seemed more difficult because of the weapon sandbox having the covenant weapons noticeably stronger than in subsequent titles(plasma rifle absolutely shreds compared to any other iteration, for example.)

There's also the fact of grenade chain reactions just randomly killing you. Kill a grunt while they throw a grenade, it'll launch the others about and have them explode all around you like flak over berlin.

Another factor is that projectiles aren't as visible, namely with the plasma rifle. In all other games, plasma projectiles are much easier to see even in broad daylight. Needlers are pretty ridiculous in their tracking, meaning even if they don't have very high impact damage, they can still suppress your shields from recharging.

This is contrast to halo 2's difficulty, which is rendered difficult because of beam rifles and brutes being absolute tanks more than anything else. Fighting hitscan weapons is always insanely difficult(I've been playing a mod where you play as the covenant vs humans on reach, and even on normal with human weapons nerfed and covenant weapons buffed, fighting against ARs and DMR's is very hard because of instant travel time.)

Halo 3, IMO, is probably the easiest of the bungie games to beat on legendary, not because it's too easy, but because it gets rid of these annoying gimmicks in the gameplay and make it much more fair/less RNG. Halo reach has absolutely insane elites on legendary that are like demi-gods, but if not for that, it'd be in line with 3.

Could just be your reflexes have kind of slowed down with age, idk, or that you're just rusty and need to relearn all the old tricks you knew. I remember finding halo reach legendary easier than heroic for some reason, yet when I played it on legendary, it felt like absolute hell.

That's funny about Reach lol. While playing Reach I had issues exactly where I expected to. Namely the entire part of the game with Emile-A239. I struggled in the exact spots I remembered.

That's what is throwing me off here in CE, I don't remember TaR being this bad. I did find a video that proved higher refresh rates impacted accuracy, and I'm playing at 144hz. I'm going to lower it to 30 or 60 fps base to see if this gets easier to aim. And having just typed the last sentence, I can't believe I am going to LOWER my FPS for more accuracy lololololol.

There's a reason that you're given so much sniper ammo for this mission. It's best to save it for this particular part. Also it helps to use doorways as cover.

Try to use the plasma pistol and sniper rifle inside that area if you still have them, the plasma pistol is honestly one of the most powerful weapons in the game, overcharge the plasma pistol to stun jackals or elites, then use the sniper rifle to finish them, and when you get to corridors, try to fire the plasma pistol as fast as possible as it's a deadly weapon when fired fast.

After this mission, the rest of the game isn't too bad except for one mission, and I honestly don't know the answer to finishing it solo legendary, The Library is gonna be the the second hardest legendary mission in the entire collection.

the tick rate was doubled when it was ported. so the enemy ROF is also doubled. also any weapon in CE that has innacuracy (like plasma rifle, AR and magnum) now have twice the innacuracy or more because the increased framrate. so enemies shoot faster, and you cant hit em as well.

Except Halo 2 aint hitscan, it just seems that way with the projectile speed being so fast.

pretty easy, just push trough to the other side and kill from there. p.s hangar is the hardest spot in the game

What do you mean exactly when you say "push through to the other side"? The other side of the hangar? And then camp out?
