Easier to blame aim-assist when you loose at least when there is no verifiable proof.
I find myself fighting the aim assist more than it helps. so I just do this to turn it off. since i've never played any games with such extremely aggressive aim assist. its more like an aimbot than aim assist. and the look acceleration feels completely unnatural to me.
If so I'm interested
To be honest that wall of text instructions was difficult to follow
You can configure antimicro to have a custom look acceleration if you still want to keep that and not have aim assist. just enable delta acceleration and configure it how you like. or use one of the easing acceleration modes
you simply disable your aiming thumbstick in steam game controller settings. and reconfigure it in antimicro to behave how you want. without aim assist and/or look acceleration
Actually Rodger Rabbit I'm really stoked I found this guide cause I hate playing with aim assist on. It really kills my ability to enjoy the game cause I'm always fighting with it.
NP dude lol.
Since I'm new to using controllers. having been used to keyboard and mouse. I strongly dislike the aim-assist. its really distracting and jarring when my crosshair just doesnt behave linearly to my inputs!
I dont know what it is but I really don't mind playing without aim assist. its just awkward for some reason.
I feel like I can play just fine with a controller without aim assist. I'm terrible as it is with a controller. I dont need aim assist trying to mess me up anymore. I dont know how much to move my cursor to reach a target and whatnot because the aim assist throws me off. Im still learning and getting used to the basics. and its more comfortable without aim assist.
getting just the right sensitivity seems to be very important. for the most accuracy and precision. too much and its too sensitive/squirrely to control. too low and its just not fast enough to get where I need to point it in time.
I was playing the MCC with an X-Box Elite controller because I said to myself "that's how the game was made -- these games were made for controllers, man. preserve the experience!" and was having a pretty lousy time. it felt slow, cumbersome and like it was laughing at my inability to aim at things. it'd just snap to whatever it thought was most in the crosshair, even if there are several enemies close together. weak.
so of course I go online to find out how to turn it off - myself not finding any option to in the game - and I learn on Reddit that Halo has "always had aim-assist, otherwise it'd be IMPOSSIBLE to aim with a controller". those are their words, not mine. IMPOSSIBLE to aim. not "Yeah, it's a drag, but it's just how it is", it was "No, they're doing us the biggest favor of all time. You just don't get it. Aiming is impossible on a controller. Deal with it."
then switched to M+K and started having a blast. all that underwater feel gone.
