Ok Karen
I didn't think i'd have to since the rest of the games don't need it but i'll give it a shot.
Can you give us more information? What kind of controllers are you using? Do you use Steam Controller settings for your controllers? I use Steam to configure a DualShock 4 to work as a 360 controller; is your goal something like that?
Don't listen to the KB/M elitists. The only time Mouse input has a specific advantage in Halo is when you get in a vehicle. I switch to mouse whenever I use a turret, ghost, banshee, etc. because their maximum turning speed is usually capped on controller. Halo was built for a controller so it still feels pretty natural using one on PC. With Steam, you can also configure the gyro controls to accept motion input, which works nicely for small adjustments at long ranges
Then controller
then go to general controller settings.
open it and enable all the checkboxes except for "guide button" if you dont want it.
Then restart steam and try again?
Okay, so i mainly now use a dualshock 4 from Scufgaming. I've downloaded the DS4 windows app to have it used, it basically emulates the controller as x360 for programs and you use it as you see fit. So with that loaded, for example i'll fire up Witcher 3. Press a button on controller it'll default straight to controller settings, prompts etc as it would. Same with Borderlands 3.
However, with Halo MCC, i load it and it doesnt recieve any input at all or atleast doesnt want to acknowledge it is. So i grabbed my xbox one controller and plugged it in using the play n charge cable but again it did nothing.
I've looked up on youtube how others have gotten controller of PS4 to work and they just fire up DS4Windows and boom it works, i've tried forcing steam controller config on AND off. Still nothing, i'm just about to test it with big game mode on see if it registers, but i doubt it.
I use Dualshock 4 from scufgaming with ds4windows or i just plug in the xbxone one controller. Niether work with HALO MCC.
I have just done this and about to test it but i noticed that its not reading a controller has been plugged in even though on othergames the game will register my dualshock 4 with ds4 windows and use it. something there perhaps?
funny i use a PS1 dualshock you'll have to set up a controller configuration with steam first
Well, developments have happened, it appears that with the xbox one play n charge kit cable, it would not work in recognising there is even a controller there. However, if i use my other cable from scuf for my ps4 controller, it would recognise it. So i can now use the xbox one controller, however still no look with dualshock 4 for some reason.
Also, OP: You don't need DS4Windows these days. Steam's PS4 controller support does the same thing.
