Halo 2 Outskirts Co-op Disconnection/Stuck in loading

When loading into the map called Outskirts in Halo 2 Co-op, the cutscene plays, but once the game loads up to where you begin controlling Master Chief, it disconnects you back to the main menu after a few seconds. Co-op partner says they only see a black screen before they lose connection as well. This level fine in Single Player.

Anyone else have this issue in co-op?

Yeah same thing happened to me and my friend, idk wtf is going on.

I ended up having to skip that Outskirts mission entirely. So far, the 3 missions afterwards have played fine.

Watching the cutscene in classic mode worked for me and my friend, dunno if it was luck or if it actually fixed it.
