Game resets save point

Hi all
Playing through chapter 8 of Halo CE ("Two Betrayals") for a few days now, the game already saved the progress throughout. But when I stated the game today and clicked "resume", it brought me back to the opening cut scene of the level. Repeated tries yielded the same result, so all progress in the level seems to be lost.

I am not sure what caused this. Any ideas on why it would do this, or if the saves can be recovered? Again, it already saved progress throughout the level, so it's like all the saves were deleted or something and everything was reverted back.

I never clicked on "missions" or on anything else, simply on "campaign" and "resume".

Were you playing CO-OP at first? When you play CO-OP you have to restart from the start, it's always been that way, if not you can still choose what part of the mission you want to play through the menu

No, I did not play co-op.
The only thing I did before choosing "resume" is clicking on the new link for Halo 2, but of course it said I need to download the game. Then I exited, went back to Halo CE, clicked "resume", and saw that it put me back to the beginning of the mission..
How can I choose which part of the mission to play? You mean I can drop in at any checkpoint? Thankfully I see that all missions are open and I can just continue to next mission, but I would like to finish playing the mission if possible.

I had this happen today weird.

It's the latest update. 343i changed so much that most games and most levels couldn't be resumed with a checkpoint from before the update. You should notice some improvements to CE, hopefully.

oh u got to be kidding me i was wya far in the game this suck and stupid at least give people not update and play it did they give patch notes on it tha might missed? ugh
