How do I swordfly? Should I cap my fps to 30?
Do you swing the sword with the melee button or the attack button? Is it quickswitch and melee? or switch at the same time of meleeing with the sword? Does it have anything to do with fps?

But i haven't found one on mcc pc, and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with fps

I'm pretty sure it's on mcc pc too. I saw a video like 1 year ago about sword flying on mcc on xbox. So i assume it's on pc as well. The frame rate most likely doesn't matter considering you can do it on xbox with 60 fps.

I might be wrong.

People said it was in the flights, but very hard to do, so I'm trying to find a way.

Strange I thought sword flying got patched out of ye olde version of Halo 2. I was very surprised to find out animation cancelling was still in as it was the first thing I thought to try as soon as I found a sword in campaign.

Sorry for late reply but it is doable to sword fly in Halo 2. It's dependable on tickrate and since MCC Halo 2 is double the amount of OG Halo 2 it gives a way less timeframe to perform it. It's also worth mentioning, that if you play with keyboard and mouse you may want to map your controls differently due to placement of the keys.

I know I’ve done it a few times in PC MCC, but never consistently due to the window to do it is doubled at 60 fps (its a one fram trick, iirc).

You gotta have a red reticle with your scoped weapon, switch to sword, hit your action/reload key, and then the primary fire with the sword so you do a lunge, all in about a micro second.

16.7 milliseconds actually.

It's a 3-frame button combo. YXR. Get a red crosshair, swap weapons on the first frame, cancel the animation on the second frame, crosshair should still be red on frame three so swing the sword. It's a fast, precise input and even if you do it right it won't always work, but that's how you do it. Works on 30 and 60 hz tick rates, and I've heard it's not really much easier at 30. You kinda just have to develop your own way of moving your fingers across those 3 inputs, one after the other, and very quickly. A lot of people slide their thumb from Y to X. I keep X on a back paddle.

Outskirts is the best place to practice because of the out-of-bounds sword and Johnson's sniper (and later the rocket launcher). I hope this helps. Good luck.

I often just make a macro for it, you don't have to cap your frames to 30 and it only works in campaign. For multiplayer they hard capped the distance you can lunge and fixed the range that you can activate the lunge.

Are you sure that's it? I've heard it still works, but only if you're the connection host. It definitely doesn't work as client, but I thought I saw someone show it off as a host player a year or two ago

what macro are you using? I've tried using two, but one doesn't work, no matter what times I put in between buttons and the other sort of sits like a background program and every time I activate it it Alt+Tabs Halo, freezing it.

You can use cheat-engine with EAC off to cap the tickrate back to 30, it brings back super bouncing too.
