Tried to beat the last mission with a friend. 4x desyncs. Completely broken. RIP (OUR RUN OF THE) Halo 1 (CAMPAIGN).

So that cant have to do with a high ping and bad connections ?

also have you maybe considered that people have abit more to think about then Coop performance problems ?

They are probably working on it but claim "RIP" sure sounds like a constructive and helpful comment right ?

Yeah, right, bad internet and performance. Even though we beat the whole game except the last level, both have 25+ MB/s download speeds, live 10 minutes away from each other, and only get desyncs in this specific game on one specific level.

It's been rampant since it came out. We play on Legendary. We finished all of Halo Reach without any problems. The Maw consistently craps out, and because there's no way to continue from a checkpoint, have to start the ENTIRE level all over again.

Here's more people with bad internet: https://steamcommunity.com/app/976730/discussions/search/?q=desync&gidforum=1835685838087244067&include_deleted=1

There seems to be LAN functionality (from my personal experiences anyway). If both of you can play on the same connection, then you might get a more reasonable co-op experience.

Though, those circumstances might not be possible for you. Just thought I'd suggest it because you said you were 10 minutes away from each other.

Edit: Also, even though the campaign seemed LAN esk for me the entire way through. When I was playing that final mission, there was still some lag anyway. That final mission has something seriously wrong with it me thinks.

Hm, well while cabled isn't an option, we've beaten our share of LAN-only games with Hamachi & ParSec and the like. May have to give that a try at some point. Appreciate it.

There's no lag between us by the way, not even a slight stutter, just a sudden "oh you're running into a wall again on my screen".

I didn't say the game was dead. It's not my fault that you decided to take that personally. I meant RIP as in "that's the end of that Halo 1 campaign run". I'll edit the post to make sure nobody else gets offended.

i just think complaining in the forum is a bit dumb since you know the solution and that you can just send them a bug report

and they cant really do anything about people not resisting the urge of playing on Wifi when its not really meant for long multiplayers sesions

Wifi isnt exactly "great" if you want stable and a constant flow of Data as the reciver will most likely start to overheat once you played for a good chunk of time

It worked for me, my friend and i put in probably 8-9 hours in one night playing the campaign on legendary with skulls, we died a lot but only a few weird lags from my friend. it honestly was probably just one of our connections. it's been fine on CE for me

It is fine on CE.... Reach is the one that needs the netcode reworked. Halo 3 and ODST will surely be similar.

Wifi? What on God's earth are you talking about? I meant cable as in LAN. Two PC's connected to... You know what, forget it.

There have been SEVERAL people this month reporting an issue with the last mission's online coop as per the above link. There's a problem. Period. I'll submit a bug report to waypoint when I can.

It WoRkS FiNe FoR ME. You literally responded to someone else with the EXACT SAME ISSUE in one of the above threads. Not in the coop in general, The Maw. Desyncing. With multiple people according to them.

Is that what I literally did? Go figure.
