On Foot Third-Person Option
I know you automatically go into third person when using a turret, a vehicle, etc., but I'm asking an option to go into third person while on foot. I mean sure there are mods and stuff, but having a third-person option officially would really help out! It would also help out to have camera options such as change how distant you want the camera to be and choose center overhead view, over left shoulder, and over right shoulder. To make sure it doesn't ruin pvp, this option will be disabled in pvp areas. You will be forced to play first person so backstabbing can still be useful to kill enemy players and players won't be able to corner peek without exposing themselves. Custom servers/games can enable third person use, but regular servers and such, it's disabled. It should also be worth noting that zooming in with a sniper rifle and such will put you in first person while you're zoomed. Un-zooming will put you back in third person.

Why have third person on foot?
1: Keeps things a bit more consistent. 3rd person view at all times.
2: 3rd person should allow you to dodge things a bit better and be more aware of enemies, as well as be able to do a bit better at landing jumps, especially when you use a jetpack.
3: You get to admire your spartan's and Master Chief's cool looks. Also their butts if ya like butts.
4: It would defiantly make the game better and a bit more unique compared to the originals.

I don't think 3rd person is very good in shooters but it's nice to have options.

I agree it is nice to have options, and I can say 3rd person isn't perfect. Not-as-good aiming and camera colliding with walls. Still, more options the better.

I’ve seen people attempt third person mods for Halo CE, though to rather mixed results. Halo is just not built to play like a third person shooter. If it was, then Bungie would’ve kept it as such when they originally developed Halo CE.

Mods are goin to be a thing so a third person mod is not goin to be a mere dream.

Yes, mods will be a thing and it could allow for a third person mod. However I'm talking about an official third person so modding isn't required. It'd also allow people to get achievments if they make it so mods disable achievments and if achievments will be a thing, though I can live without achievments personally.

They won't change gameplay of the core games.

It won't, it'll just allow players to choose which view they prefer. Which is always nice to have.

Dunno if devs confirmed workshop ( it would be awesome) but if they confirmed or planned to do it then the mods are goin to be official, the major problem is how mods will affect the multiplayer part of the game, probably some servers do not let you join if you are usin a mod? I really dunno.

I don't know how it's going to be handled neither. I think what that might happen is that there will be 2 versions you can select when click play on your steam library, non-moddable which has multiplayer and stuff, and moddable which has the mods but disables multiplayer and such.

I doubt they'll use workshop, since it'll be undeliverable to windows store owners of the game.
Mod support is a planned feature they'll look into, however, and they're actually working with the El Dewrito team of halo modders to do it. (Can't talk about that mod here, but I think paraphrasing Ske7ch's words mentioning the team shouldn't get any trouble?)

I would expect they'd want to deliver this by a web-based hub instead of steam workshop, so it's supported on both store fronts.
In campaign sure, more power to ya. In multiplayer? Hell no.

Well, campaign and PVE multiplayer anyway like spartan ops or firefight. PVP thirdperson, definitely no.

It would make the game very awkward.

You would still be able to use first person if ya think third person is awkward. Simply put, an option to go into third person would allow players to choose which view they prefer. Especially if it were toggleable with a key to change views instantly.
