I'm pretty sure they'll let you use an Xbox controller, no reason not to.

Trigger the kb warriors to say all kinds of bs about how they're superior....

XB1 controller is pretty much a default controller on Win10, so since this game will be Win10 supported, I see why no reason not to have it as a default input.

xD

They confirmed full gamepad support.

Being 343 and Microsoft, we can know full well that will include Xbox 360 and Xbox one pads.

In addition the insiders sign-up questions included asking about other controllers, including Dualshock and the Steam Controller.

Personally I think the Steam controller could be the marriage of mouse and controller, I'd certainly buy one just to play more competitively.

I got one during summer sale last year, they get crazy cheap with bundles.

I got X-Com 2, a steam link and steam controller for like £30. I haven't really spent enough time trying to get used to using it though.

That's dirt cheap, they currently have them onsale atm 2nd hand for like $48, buy 2 get 1 free, thinking of getting 3 and selling the other 2 lol.
What do you think of the controller itself?, I get what it does, but does it do things better than a joystick itself?.

For me, the Steam Controller never became a substitute for kb+m, like how Valve advertised it to be. It replaced my existing controller instead. I tossed my 360 controller in favor of having a "mouse-like movement" on the "right stick" (a touchpad) for camera controls.

I have enough controllers, I just want something different if it works and has pros.

It's hard to recommend it, though. It has a bit of a learning curve, thanks in part of its unconventional shape.
And be prepared to either tinker with the control configurator yourself or download setups by others (feature in the configurator itself), because many games come with Valve's default Steam Controller setup. Developers have an option to offer their own default setup for their game out of the box, but only a few bother with it.

Apparently you gave up way too easily to try and use a mouse and keyboard. There is no excuse for this tbh especially when there are millions opon millions of players out there who play FPS like CS:GO and overwatch with a m/kb. You just like using a controller better because console fps games have aim assist.

Looks like you just talked me out of a 3 pack but I might still buy 1.
