VKD3D is being worked on.
If this game won't have a D3D11 render path, it'll be quite the motivating application for VKD3D.

to be fair, half the time DX12 and windows aren't exactly the best of friends either

highly, highly doubt that microsoft are likely to take a page out of DOOM's book and use vulkan though

I would even be happy if it gets Gold.

Gold is good enough for me. Lots of games that I play are Gold and I don't have much complaints at all.

If I remember correctly. A while ago I read that Proton will get DX12 support in the near future. I think I saw it on the ProtonDB Discord or something.

it's borked for now. Also, Proton now supports a minimal subset of DX12 :)

Not everyone is OK with Windows being literal spyware. I'm ok with windows, but others probably aren't

Singe player might work. Last I checked basically any kind of anti-cheat seems to break the automatic Linux versions Steam makes. And this will probably have something like that I would imagine for the online multiplayer.
