advice on "keyes" level
There are lots of flood on this level. In parts, am I supposed to kill them and then proceed, or are they infinitely respawning and I am supposed to fight my way through them? will they eventually stop respawning?

You don't HAVE to kill all of them, so if you can get past and proceed, do so.

There are sections where they drop from the ceiling, IIRC they do infinitely spawn in some sections, the key to the flood in general is to keep moving, just use your shotgun to blast through the flood that are in your way, you don't need to kill them constantly, only those in your way.

ok thanks.

It's just that I get to this large open room, and there is this enormous crowd of them.

I usually walk backwards in the direction I came from whilst shooting, when it comes to the flood. that's how I did it in the library

Keyes is the only level where the flood don't stop spawning, so it's best to sometimes be careful while progressing through the level or just skip some parts

Grenades and plasma work wonders.
Mainly flood is infinite so kill only those who are in a way and keep moving
Down below in the coolant pools they're infinite, afaik. But you can completely skip that part with the Flood Bump exploit. The Par Time achievement is even named after it so I think they expect us to learn it. It's fairly easy and at the VERY beginning so it's worth learning.

I know I'm an anomaly but I found the shield bump easier. Lol.

Really? I guess there's less RNG but far more precision. If you can clear out the Flood in the beginning fast enough and be precise 100% of the time it's probably more reliable.

If you were talking about the coolant pool where the flood carriers are in the coolant... they infinitely respawn. It's part of the reason why par score is so damn high on this level, you are expected to farm kills at that point for par score. Everywhere else, it's not infinite.

well I did it. honestly, a lot of them I just had to jump over them and just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ run to the objective
Holo Mar 9, 2020 @ 2:11pm
