Can't pick up weapons

Might just be my key board but I legit can't pick up any weapons human or covi. You can imagine how much harder the game is when once you run out of ammo you can only melee.

Is there a fix out there or am I just going to have to throw the bandana skull on for this legendary play through?

The fix seems to be to check and do windows updates - some change in a recent update fixes it.
or maybe some change in a recent update broke it, and then another recent one fixes it?

I've asked this question up, they're not too sure which one that it was apparently, just that its repeatable that running the updates fixes it.

Still on Windows 7 man. There are no more updates.

You can upgrade to windows 10 for free still.
Which you should. No need to help spread new malware that isn't patched in unsupported operative systems

I'm in the same boat, they can pry Windows 7 from my cold dead hard drive.

The store page does list Windows 7 support so another workaround will be in order.

Heard people say the same with W2000, XP and Vista. Just grow up and adapt to the changes. It's neat once you get to know it :)

Nobody likes to change. Very understandable.

I remember when I was young I got used to Windows ME, then had to learn XP in High School. I thought XP was going to last forever. Then I moved to 7 in College, and thought I would never change again. Then 10 came out and what do you know, I like it a lot.

Can't blame folks for loving their OS though. It's a loyalty and usability thing. Kinda like Android and iOS.

Couldn't care less about loyalty to 7. I'm just not touching 10.

I'm currently on Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary and ran out of bullets, it's a little too difficult trying to use the odd grenade and melee.

I'm a dummy. I just installed the Win7 updates that are there if you check. Fixed the problem.

In other good news, since i remember you asked before - 343i actually addressed the "Back in the Day" achievement, it just says custom game now, not local

Ok, so I might have to check for updates for my 8.1-installation then, when I feel like it :p It's silly though that this kind of bug needs you to update Windows... I mean, it's an issue with INPUT. e for picking up weapons, 1 for switching weapons and right mouse button for zoom, those 3 are the ones that don't work as intended for me. Can't pick up weapons, switching is like it's on super fats key repeat so you have to try until it does it and zoom is the same. I bet the update will fix it but why is this happening to begin with? Oh well,

The problem isn't just within the game, it seems to be some kind of issue with a specific previous version of .net framework
installing the newer 4.8 version fixes it - and the catch-all fix before i knew specifics was to point people to Windows Update, which grabs the newer .net framework even if people are on windows 7 and out-of-support.
