[SOLVED] Is lowering your weapon possible like in the old days?
You know, like in any machinimas and stuff. I was just wondering if there was a key binded to lower your weapon.

Solutions :
• Download a mod to keybind it. It works both Online and LAN since it is a animation that is coded inside HR. (Easy Anti-Cheat disabled & Mods activated)
• Hard code a keybind to trigger the animation. However, it only works on client-side. (Easy Anti-Cheat disabled & Mods activated)
• Download a map variant that permits you to lower your weapon using x key. (Easy Anti-Cheat disabled & Mods activated)

• There is, currently, no way to trigger this animation on PC on both LAN and Online MCC ; EXCEPT if you own a controller and do all the tricks to succesfully lower your weapon.

You could not do it in multiplayer. Only Halo 2 had online weapon lowering.

For the combination, I would assume you need to press whatever the equivalent keys you see here would be.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/60277555
Yes you could, otherwise it would've been impossible for Machinima makers to do anything. Search on internet, there are a lot of proofs that this combination works in both live Custom games and LAN custom games.
It does not work in ONLINE multiplayer. All machinima people made were done in local games, or as you said, LAN games. LAN is not online.

If you don't believe me, pop your OG 360 Reach in right now and try it in an online Custom Game. You CANNOT do it.

I have the game. You could NOT do it online. I searched the internet for the link I sent you. It clearly says it has to be offline.

Dont act like you know what you're talking about if you:

A: were asking for help in the first place
B: show you clearly didn't play the original game in the first place

Here is another video since you are being so stubborn. It HAS to be in a LOCAL game. Not ONLINE.

People like Rooster Teeth made machinima using LAN or local games. You can make a machinima online, but any scenes with weapon lowering HAVE to be made in Local games.

Don't argue what you don't know. You didn't even post proof, despite the fact that you said "search the internet."

Why don't you search the internet instead of posting on a forum then? I swear man.

Putting aside your toxicity, if you ever worked on a machinima, you know it is possible online. Just not the way you do it on LAN. It requires some tricks, i'll give you that, but it is possible. I'm not acting like I know everything, otherwise I wouldn't be asking for help (Like you said). My question was, knowing it is possible both on LAN / Online, to lower your weapon on PC.

Here are the answers to my question (Since I found the solutions yesterday) :

• Download a mod to keybind it. It works both Online and LAN since it is a animation that is coded inside HR. (Easy Anti-Cheat disabled & Mods activated)
• Hard code a keybind to trigger the animation. However, it only works on client-side. (Easy Anti-Cheat disabled & Mods activated)

It is not possible to do online using the button combination. You're wrong and you can't even prove it. There was no other way to lower weapons besides modding.

You could drop your weapon using tricks. But not lower your weapon.

You're right, this thread was quite the ride.

Modding is not a part of the original game, so no I didn't. There is no way to lower your weapon online using the game itself.

If you have to mod, you risk getting banned on 360. That's dumb.

Of course you risked getting banned on 360, but that does not mean it is not possible ;)
Either way, in custom games, there was a really small chance of you getting caught.

Unless the Xbox hardware somehow detects your mod and then auto bans you.

Yeah I'm good. I'll just use my buddies' Xbox and a LAN cable + our 5 collective controllers if I need to do any weapon lowering scenes.

you can lower the weapon by having the crosshair lowered instead of centre.

If you're talking about move weapon position/offset, like with opensauce on halo custom engine, then no. I really hope someone mods something like that in before halo combat evolved is released
You're missing the point. I was talking about lowering your weapon at a 3rd person perspective, check RvB for exemple, you can see that their weapons were lowered.

At the time it was Zoom STICK + DOWNARROW + JUMP on 360 if I can remember correctly
Couldn't you do it in every Halo since CE just by looking up? Remember doing it on Blood Gulch in CE on original xbox back in the day.

You looked down in Halo 1. You held the grenade button in Halo 2.

Halo 3 and onwards were button combos.
