How to change your Username/Nickname in MCC
Some people are a little confused when their name shows a generated Username/Nickname in the MCC.
Here's a quick and clear guide for you all on how to change your user name!

1. Go to: xbox.com
2. Sign in to your profile
3. Click your name on the top right.
4. Click on "Xbox Profile"
5. Next to your Profile Picture click the "Customize" box
6. Click the Pencil Icon next to your username
7. Set this to whatever username you'd like
8. Click Save
9. Launch MCC
10. At the Main Menu click the "People Icon" on the top right
11. Click on your own name and Select "Change Account"

This will log you out of MCC itself.

Finally, log back into your account on MCC.

Happy Fragging! :steamhappy:

I believe you can only change your Xbox GamerTag free of charge once.

Correct! I believe the only draw back is a wait period once you do change your name.

the major drawback would be that MCC isn't set up to use microsoft's new name system, so you're going to have a bunch of annoying numbers on the end of your tag that were, by design, supposed to be hidden

Oh lord... It doesn't let me change my gamertag in any way. I'm trying everything but it doesn't accept any of the names I choose. This is why I've always hated Xbox and Microsoft. It seems I wasn't mistaken. This is beyond ridiculous...
