Some achievements unlocking randomly

Are the achievements glitched in this game? Some of them seem to pop up randomly for me.

For instance, I got

• Stick With It...A Little Longer
  Play a multiplayer or co-op game at least 3 months after your first game.
  
• I'm Sorry, Dave
  Halo: Reach: Find the hidden binary signature.
  and
  
• Easy to Overlook
  Halo: Reach: Access hidden UNSC radio chatter.

erratically when playing the game. The Dave achievement notification popped up when I zoomed in on the civilians coming out of the shelter in the first mission, and the Overlook achievement when progressing normally in either the second or third mission.

Seems like the triggers are messed up. It's not a huge deal, but just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this to get an idea on how widespread it is.

Edit: 'Dave' achi is triggered by activating binoculars.

I don't own any of the Halo games for Xbox. I did participate in MCC Insider Flight 3, but I'm not so sure that has anything to do with it.

Yeah those are probably bugged cause I also unlocked them randomly.

I got those as well, definitely for no reason because I unlocked them doing completely different things than you

Oof. So the launch was definitely a bit rushed. Thank god the game still functions properly in most aspects, but it's a shame for people who actually want to hunt the achievements down themselves.

same for me, including some others i don't remember

not sure if the one you get for fragging a dev in multiplayer (or anyone with the same cheevo) counts as bugged but it seems a lot of us got it on first kill. could be coincidence.

The very first time I booted up the game, I got 6 achievements. Hadn't even touched the game before.

I'm Sorry Dave isn't unlocked by accident. Its just you've never played Halo and don't know who Dave is. And Same with Easy to Overlook... Its easy to overlook.

Your first game was during the Flight... something it seems like you shouldn't have taken part in because you know nothing of the series.

If you linked your microsoft account that has played the MCC on xbox one you'll unlock previously unlocked achievements on steam.

We have a vague description of the achievements. How about you enlighten us with the exact triggers for Dave and Overlook

FYI I watched a guide on how to unlock the 'Overlook'' achievement on Youtube, and can confirm I did nothing portrayed in the video. Also got 'Stick With It', even though I've never played a Halo game on this account.
Since you seem resourceful, I'm sure you can explain these.

FYI I watched a guide on how to unlock the 'Overlook'' achievement on Youtube, and can confirm I did nothing portrayed in the video. Also got 'Stick With It', even though I've never played a Halo game on this account.
Since you seem resourceful, I'm sure you can explain these.

he's not being salty, he more so just seems like he's answering your question with simple answers. the overlook achievement realistically is not hard to get, you probably just walked past the radio and just overlooked it and didn't even notice it in a firefight game. same thing happened to me, i'm pretty sure it's in the barn high area if i recall. stick with it is definitely a glitch. the other 2 are not glitches, you got them and you just didn't realize what you did.

edit: just to provide backup on that other achievement, you get that for zooming in with a gun that has no scope. the binary that shows up at the bottom right spells dave if i remember correctly. so depending on when you zoomed in, it definitely could've seemed like a random achievement.

I'm Sorry Dave: there's some binary on the helmet which is visible if you zoom in with a weapon that doesn't have a scope. It also seems to trigger whenever you press the button to zoom in (I got it in the first cutscene XD).

Stick with it... a little longer: Yeah... not sure about this one. Unlocked it on the first day it was out... didn't use an old account btw.

Don't think I have the third one, but I'm guessing that even though it's supposed to be on Overlook, they probably reused that radio audio somewhere in a campaign mission.

Well, actually, I haven't touched firefight yet, so that definitely isn't the answer. I now know where you get 'Dave' from, but that doesn't explain the others.
And yes, the guy's being salty. Making vague, condescending comments isn't the same as "giving simple answers". Especially since the Flight was a month ago, had no achievements, permanent progression or Xbox Live crosscarries, so the guy is just flat out incorrect.

Steam has had some trouble with achievements recently, as in some games, some common achievements appear as having extremely low obtainment rates.

Whatever - it's not a big deal. I can live with it, just curios on others' experiences regarding the topic.
