Aim assist for controllers ruins the game
This is supposed to be HALO FOR PC, you shouldn't be able to just plug in a controller and get auto aim against people using a mouse that have 0 auto aim. We finally get halo for pc and they put in auto aim. I was having a great time before i found out i'm playing on an uneven playing field. Now i have no motivation to play. I just assumed we would be free of gimmicky console mechanics for halo's long awaited release on pc..

Eh? Mouse smoothing is an option that nobody playing serious comp games uses.
i think you missed the part that pointed out there's no ability to disable mouse smoothing. you're thinking mouse acceleration which is very different. there's a link above, i assume your mouse has a scroll wheel?
No, mouse smoothing is also an option you can disable, go into your options menu in Reach and you'll see it. You can disable it in windows as well.

Have you ever actually played comp in PC shooters?

yeah, but if you notice a lot of reports note disabling them only partially fixes input lag, meaning there's without question more going on under the hood.

it's simulated cursor movement, not raw input, the game is behaving as if you are using a controller, that's why the aiming feels off.
So the OP was having fun, then listened to a bunch of moronic crybabies, and all of a sudden isnt having fun? Sounds about right.

I play with mouse and usually do mid-top of the board. It's better than a controller, even with controller aim assist. Geez.

the game has xinput based 360 controller support, like almost every other game that uses 360 controllers, if you're getting mouse-esk input from a controller, that would be a good sign that other things are happening under the hood.

i use a mouse. the mouse aiming feels terrible. it is not raw input.

Its probably your frames, not the mouse input. Do you play at high refresh rates? If so, you have to turn vsync off, uncap your frames, then set a custom frame limit of 120 in MSI afterburner, AND set your monitor refresh rate to 120. That will fix it and will feel like raw input. Anything else is kinda broken right now. It has to do with the frame count being divisible by the frame rate of the objects.

OH, im the one misunderstanding then. my bad, sorry...

Yeah, mouse has a secondary smoothing system going on under the hood, beyond the options you can toggle.
Nearly every game on the market does, its an intentional and common marketing scheme to make people enjoy the product more because they think they're good at it, look at ANY namco game, it's littered with that kinda tactic. but it's done to a FAR more seamless effect than what we have here.
the issue isn't the feature itself, it's that the feature needs further refining.

and what Knocks posted, might be the core issue of why it seems so unrefined. good call...

uncapped is too unstable for me, i play 60 with v sync off.

try uncapped with vsync on, vsync usually, not always but usually, works as a more stable framecap.
Winblows 4/dez./2019 às 18:59
Store page said it had controller support and it never siad it did or dindt have aim assist and it is a game released on pc that works as intended with a pc

Discussion closed you just got w-rigity wrecked
