Any single-player way to get Season Points?
I've played Reach on the original Xbox since it came out. I've managed to reach the highest rank and unlocked almost everything despite never having played multiplayer (only split-screen) in the years I've had the game, and I still play it with my buddies to this day.
I'm one of those people who doesn't really like online multiplayer for whatever reason, so I'm really disappointed to find out you can't unlock anything without playing multiplayer in this new version of the progression system.

Is there any way which DOESN'T involve online gameplay to get XP? I played some solo Firefight just to try the game out and didn't get any XP out of that, either, so I'm really on the fence now. I'm hoping there's going to be at least some other way in the future to get XP, otherwise I'm going to just refund the game and stick to the classic 360 version.

I had intended to buy a second copy of the game to do some LAN gaming, but if my friends and I can't progress without playing online, there's really no point to spend the extra money when we might as well just break out the 360 and play split-screen.

P.S. Where the hell is Forge mode, and why do I have to have a Microsoft account (which I can't even name properly because "TheIdiot" is considered a bad name)?

Forge is coming at a later date. And the only way to earn season points atm is to play PVP

I really really do hope they will either add normal difficulty on matchmaking firefight or add a way to gain xp on custom games. I just wanna chill :steamsad:

Or PvE Firefight - both for grabbag and heroic FF.

Thanks for the responses. That does suck to hear as I was really excited to start the whole unlock thing from the beginning again...would have earned at least 6000 XP in the lone Firefight I played if this were still using the original unlock system.

I don't like multiplayer at all - outside of locally with friends - as I get a really weird form of stress (I guess it's probably anxiety?) when I play with random people online. So naturally this makes the whole game basically pointless for me since I'll always just look like Default Spartan Guy.

Hopefully they decide to be merciful for us offline players in the future. I don't get why they didn't just leave the original credit system in the game, where you could save your credits for the things you actually want...

I think Halo is the perfect game to remedy that. Just don't play Ranked and stick to Social Games. I'm willing to bet a few rounds of Griffball will have you reeling with laughter if it's your first time playing it.

It's up to you of course, but I'm very familiar with what you described - and it WILL slowly go away the more you... experience it.
