No achievements nor progression at all.
Title. Proof as seen here [imgur.com]. Anyone else as frustrated as I am?

Ps. Also checked that I'm signed into the Xbox app with the correct account

Hey I think I got it. I edited my 'hosts' files some times ago, and reset it to default. then launched my game and logged in and out of my MS account. I'm able to get progression and achievements now.
How did you reset it to default?
Open it in notepad, and Delete everything under:

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

If you edited it before I'd make a backup first just in case. I think you can also just delete the file, but I cant remember, make a backup in either case

343 knows about the issue and is getting flak, surely they'll update and patch it soon enough
K, will just have to wait. Is there any proof that 343 is aware, though?

A moderator replied saying 343 knows about it in another thread then got grilled by another user that was not happy in the slightest about the goof up
Oh, okay. Didn't know

Check this guide.

I posted a comment there with a full list of possible domains you may need to check for.

If you are not blocking domains, have you ever used a program like OOSU10 to disable the "spying" functions of Windows? There are certain "features" that are required for Xbox games to work correctly.

I reset the hosts file, and nothing. No domains blocked, at least on the hosts file. I did run some commands a long time ago which deleted some Xbox entries and stopped some services, but I managed to get them back and running. But apart from that, no programs to disable "spying" functions
