Friend and I can't join each others lobbies no matter what we try?
Hello!

First of all, those who have never played Halo are hilarious on this forum, so thanks for the humor.

Now - the issue.

No matter what we try, inviting, joining, swapping xbox accounts, restarting, joining in different windows like campaign vs. multiplayer, we just can't seem to join either persons session. It always leads to "Failure to connect" of some sort. Anyone know how to fix this?

Same issue on my end. Worked once. Every time it says: Connection Failed. Your connection to the game session has failed, please try again. Googled the error and its been an existing issue on console. Morons at 343 didn't bother to try and fix an existing issue before dropping it on PC.

Yeah kinda sucks, I love the game but I was really looking forward to playing with my buddy
I'm having this issue as well. Not sure what the problem is. I heard using the Relay's setting messed with matchmaking and both parties have since tried that on and off as well (w/ app restarts) and no luck.
might be an issue with NAT types. if either of you have a closed connection, it might cause issues.

Darn! Good attempts, I'm not too sure what more can be done apart from continually trying over, and over, and over again. Sucks man
Change download regions on steam to where they/you live
I'm having the same issue as well, you play once and you try and join it doesn't work with the Connection Failed error msg.
your not alone in this issue

Even though we live on the same side of the USA? I'm in Washington and he's in California, so I'm not sure how much that would help / if I could even do anything

Worked for me at least, give it a shot

Me and my twin are roomies, we have the same internet. He's been playing all day with zero issues with matchmaking and party forming. I on the other hand haven't been able to with steam friends at all. NAT may be an issue, but I don't think thats the whole of it because my case in particular makes no sense.

I'll give it a shot, will update here the findings, thanks for the help!
If you have changed the 'Network' settings ingame on "Relays", switch it back to OFF.

I had it put to "On" and couldn't join any matches etc, the second I changed it to Off everything works :dux:

Matchmaking works with relay's disabled, but Party forming or joining friends is still broke for me at least.
