Is this playable offline?

Title pretty much, I usually don't have an internet connection, wanna know if I can play the campaign offline.

I was worried about this too, that it required an internet connection to launch the single player game, but as far as I can see, it can totally be played offline.

I disconnected my internet, then restarted my computer, then started steam in offline mode, and the game works just fine. The only thing is, it takes about 20 seconds or so of that little loading circle. Oh, and also it takes about 30 seconds to exit the game, which seems like it crashes the .exe, but eventually it shuts down (I think that's a bug).

Obviously, I can't confirm whether it would work, if you hadn't signed into xbox live in a couple of weeks

It requires you to login to your MS account once in a while, but I don’t know how often. Roughly once a month, or so I’m told.

But other than that, yes, it can be played offline.

Well, i had (ironically) today a issue with the Internet-Connection for like an Hour, i still could start and play the Game. But i'd say you need atleast login once with your XBL / Microsoft Account so the Game is linked with it.

ugh, yeah this is what I was afraid of. If that's true, it's basically like having denuvo, "periodic entitlement verification"

I have all halo games on my xbox360 which were released for it and halo 2 on my original xbox, I have never used xbox live or connected any console to the internet, works fine.

If you run into problems I can say that the original xbox and xbox360 never required any login to play the halo games at least for me, I am not sure about xbox one or the PC version.
