We are back at it again with another weekly playlist update! This week both the Winter Contingency and Valentines events have come to an end. If you met the criteria for each event to earn the nameplates, you should have them unlocked now! With the end of these events, some playlist changes have been made today. Details for what’s new are below:

Rotational Playlist Changes

• Shotty Sniper rotates in
  
• Winter Contingency rotates out

Shotty Snipers

• Selectable in Social Games for 4v4 and FFA
  
• Available in Halo: Reach, Halo 2, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4

Good Morning Friends,

This week’s playlist update rewards you in unique ways for how you defeat enemy Spartans. Power Slayer for Halo: Reach is coming online as this week’s featured category for Social 4v4 and FFA. This unique twist on slayer grants you temporary powerups based on how you kill enemies. Earn increased movement when defeating an enemy, increased health for melee kills, an enhanced motion sensor for assassinations, and increased damage for finishing off an opponent with a headshot. Details for what’s new are below:

Rotational Playlist Changes

• Power Slayer rotates in
  
• Shotty Snipers rotates out

Power Slayer

• Selectable in Social Games for 4v4 and FFA
  
• Available in Halo: Reach

Hello Friends,

Today’s playlist update is mixing in some new with some old for a fresh new option to play. Fiesta is coming to MCC as this week’s featured playlist. This will mark the first time it rotates into matchmaking for Halo: Combat Evolved ever! On top of this, to help make your time inside a little more enjoyable, we've turned on Double XP globally for MCC and Halo 5. Logging in to Halo 5 will also earn you free Arena and Warzone XP Boost Packs weekly. Full details are below:

Rotational Playlist Changes

• Fiesta rotates in for all games in MCC
  
• Grifball rotates out

Halo: CE Fiesta

• All new Fiesta game type available on Battle Creek, Damnation, Prisoner, Chill Out, Derelict,
• Wizard, and Longest
  
• Fiesta will be available as the featured category

Global Double XP Event

• Double XP for medals
  
• Double the XP cap for medal categories
  
• Available in both social and ranked multiplayer Matchmaking

Welcome back for another weekly playlist update. With it, brings back a fan favorite, SWAT, as this week’s feature playlist. For the first time ever in matchmaking, Halo: Combat Evolved (H:CE) will also have SWAT available! On top of this madness, double medal XP and double match XP is in effect this week! Details for these changes are below:

Rotational Playlist Changes

• SWAT rotates in for all games in MCC as the featured category
  
• Fiesta rotates out and has been mixed back into Action Sack

Halo: CE SWAT

• Team SWAT game type available on Battle Creek, Damnation, Prisoner, Hang ‘Em High, Chill Out, Derelict, and Wizard
  
• FFA SWAT game type available on Battle Creek, Damnation, Prisoner, Hang ‘Em High, Chill Out, and Derelict

Global Double XP Event

Welcome back for another weekly playlist update! This week brings CE Mayhem to the featured category. This chaotic collection of community-created content brings 16 players together in Halo: Combat Evolved on some of the smallest maps it has to offer. Details for these changes are below:

Rotational Playlist Changes

• CE Mayhem rotates into the featured category.
  
• SWAT rotates out of the featured category but is still available.

CE Mayhem: 8v8

• Mayhem Slayer on Battle Creek, Rat Race, and Hang 'Em High.
  
• Mayhem CTF on Hang 'Em High.
  
• Mayhem One Flag CTF on Rat Race.
  
• Mayhem Static King on Battle Creek.

Rotational Playlist Changes

• Rotated Halo: Reach CE Anniversary into the featured slot for social 4v4.
  
• Rotated Shotty Snipers out.
  
• Rotated experimental AR start BTB out.

Reach Team Hardcore

• Partial team matching is enabled
  
• Reduced skill rank matching restrictions

• Global Double XP is active

Salutations, Spartans! We hope you have enjoyed Recon Slayer and today, we're excited to introduce another new game variant: Recon SWAT. That's right. Trade out your M6G pistols for ODST's M6S Automag and work on those headshots.

Challenge Improvements

On Monday, we deployed a service change which allowed us to start processing/registering Halo: CE Server Challenges. Since the change has been working as expected, today (Wednesday) we enabled the Halo: CE UI in the Challenge Hub to reflect which challenges are supported by that title.

Stand your ground or get up close and personal – It's time for Shotty Snipers! Featuring ranged and close quarters combat, this fan-favorite returns to matchmaking, replacing Grifball. This week also brings some additional changes with the introduction of the Halloween Challenge Event (did we mention new, exclusive nameplates?) and an adjustment to the ranked playlists. Keep reading for more info!

Haloween Celebration Event

From now until November 4th, complete challenges in our Haloween Celebration Event to unlock two brand-new nameplates: Shotgun Shell and Spider Web. You can see all the challenges and track your progress through your in-game Challenge Hub. Remember, this event ends at 10am on November 4th so don't delay!

Ranked Playlists

Beginning on October 21, the consolidation and rotation of our ranked playlist offerings will begin. The Halo 2: Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo: Reach Hardcore playlists will be removed as stand-alone playlists and will rotate monthly, starting with Halo: Reach Hardcore. The other playlists will remain with no changes at this time.

Greetings and well met, Spartans. Fans of Recon Slayer will rejoice at its return - this time as a ranked playlist with a special reward. Those of you that reach rank 20 (or higher) in this new playlist will unlock the Halo 3 Avalanche Sniper Rifle skin when season 4 launches. Additionally, our Haloween celebration continues and the restructuring of our ranked playlist offerings begins.
