[Solution] Please close Cheat Engine
Hi,
Just installed MasterChief Collection.
I cannot open the game cause it says "Please close Cheat Engine" (something like this, that's in french as I'm french).
There's no such Cheat Engine, and I searched any conflicting process in the whole Windows process list : nothing weird, only Windows default processes and three programs.
To be sure, I closed them three : TeamViewer, Discord, and Nvidia config panel.

Is it something common or am I the only one ?
Thanks

Have you ever used Cheat Engine? Ever? At all? In any way? Honestly it's not bad in and of itself (I don't use it.) as a way of modding a game. I ask this because it is weird for it to receive that error if you had never used it.

You can also run the game without Easy Anti Cheat (EAC). This only stops you from playing matchmaking.

You could put in a support ticket to 343i. They can investigate the issue and deal with it properly.

You could try running multiple virus checking programs like Malwarebytes (not at the same time, but be thorough and use two). It could be picking up something else.

Thanks for your answer.

Sure, I have used CE in the past, as cheat discovering in Ori and the Blind Forest, and for my own games (for check the security of the games I developped), because CE is actually the best free RAM editor, this is not only used for cheat in games, but also for professional development, anyway.

I tried to Check the files, reinstalled Easy AC, and check that the game is in the exceptions list of Windows Firewall.

I have found the solution :
The message is wrong, Easy AC doesn't check if CE is openned, but if it is installed.
So for fix the issue it just needs to uninstall CE and the game will launch.

This is actually, for me, a bug, because the message would be something like "please uninstall CE", and not "Please close CE", as it could show this message even when CE isn't openned.

Anyway I hope this message will help anybody else which is in my case.

Regards

Answer :
In summary for lazy people : uninstall Cheat Engine if it is installed in your machine.
It will works.

Please close the subject.
Wow. It's crazy to get confirmation on that. I've read that before but wasn't sure. Thank you for the information, not everyone posts about how they resolved their problem.
i have CE on my machine and it does not give me a notice to uninstall it first to play the non-cheat version of the game.
I have CE on my computer and I never had that issue, pretty crazy how the 343i fanboys in this thread are telling you to uninstall CE when you never had it to begin with. Just goes for show how badly 343i needs to fix the game and EAC.

The bug seems to be it checking for files on the drive that come from Cheat Engine. Even OP's quoted post states that.

"I have found the solution :
The message is wrong, Easy AC doesn't check if CE is openned [sic], but if it is installed."
