Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Ok, lets talk lore. Why are there no female elites and brutes?
Like where are they? Do they reproduce asexually? I kinda wanna see what they look like, like if this is an all out war I am sure the Covenant would be bringing everything they have tot he frontlines.

here u go: "Sangheili society is classified as being patriarchal, and while most males serve as warriors, female Sangheili hold considerable power in issues within their family keeps, including political matters, civil duties and trade, while Sangheili males are sent into service as warriors. The status quo of gender roles in Sangheili society has lately been challenged however by the Swords of Sanghelios, as Olympia Vale noted after meeting female pilot Mahkee 'Chava. Sangheili females have access to records of their own bloodlines, and are able to choose their mates.[93] The maintaining of a clan's familial records is typically the duty of the wife of the keep elder. The concept of divorce is completely foreign to Sangheili" a short answer is: there are female elites, but like it says, their gender roles are on play.
The Covenant, despite being very technologically advanced, are still rather primitive in terms of their government and cultural relationships. The grunts, jackals, and brutes didn’t even have forerunner tech and still had women serve as baby ovens while men were their culture’s warriors. And given the very inorganic evolution/progression of the Covie species (with brutes going from tribes into space in like a years time thanks to contact from the Covenant) they didn’t have enough time to evolve from tribal gender roles to being more egalitarian.

Does that make sense? Basically, the Covenant were able to get into space long before they otherwise would have, had they evolved without the precence of forerunner technology or being adopted by their Covenant leaders, which means that they went from being primitives to space primitives.

Given Brute psychology, it's probably a "Might makes right" situation, so the males are likely bred to fight and females take care of administration (what manner the Brutes may have. Despite their name, they are intelligent enough to operate advanced alien tech).

As for the Elites, they seem to lean more towards the reptilian side, so it may not be as obvious as mammals (no matter what Skyrim's Argonians may lead you to believe). But their society seems to be based on historical (and Hollywood) Sparta, so it might be the same situation as with the Brutes.
Not sure if bait
Not 100% sure if this is canon, but I recall Sangheili females being noticeably smaller than males and Sangheilis hatching from eggs rather than being birthed directly from the female.
because muh patriarchy
It's kinda hard to beat Halo one handed. That's why.
Alien races do not have to follow gender roles.

Probably they are hermaphrodites.

From the cover of one of the books, there is a female sangheili on the right (and a young san'shyuum aka "prophet" on the left). Basically they look like more slender male elites (big surprise).

According to the lore they took more of a "national guard" role on the elite homeworlds while the males went out to fight for the covenant.

here's another picture of that female's face

As for the brutes, this is directly from Halo waypoint:
"Jiralhanae are a clan-dominated patriarchal society which follows a classical dictatorship from territory to territory... Females serve the role of mother and caretaker solely and are never encountered in combat."

Man I was really hoping for a spotted hyena situation where the females are larger and more aggressive than the males. One of the reasons for why we dont see them could have been because the covenant cant control them so they opted for the more calmer docile male.

Why? Is your fetish being dominated by a big Alpha female?
