It appears to me that the AA doesn't trigger on movement alone on CE, particularly apparent when using the Shotgun, but that could be my wishful thinking.
In that video at 44:33, I'm 90% sure that there was no aim-assist despite him moving, then, right after, aim assist kicks in as he turns.

Either AA doesn't trigger with movement alone, or AA is weak as hell in CE.
Even Halo 2 Vista had it too.
What?
We all know about Aim Assist. This is about whether or not Aim Assist triggers on movement alone in CE.
While the depth of research here is impressive, might I suggest channeling all that mental and creative energy into something that isn't driving you nuts?
...and that matters?
Research in a field that advances the human condition. That assists others (with something other than grinding on their personal salt mines).
Consider medical research. Teaching (it can be terrible for your liver, depending on your subject area, but it's generally worth it). Engineering. Software development.
Much as we've butted heads a few times here, your intelligence, attention to detail, and depth of research have always been clear. If this drives you insane, turn your talents to something more productive.
...if you find joy in digging into stuff that only fuels your stress, then keep at it, I suppose.
