Xbox controller constantly losing connection
It just randomly stops responding. It's plugged in and working, but it stops responding for no reason. What gives?

Overruled by the fact FPS as a genre is inherently made to be played with KB/M, sorry pal!

He asked for help, instead of helping, goofys are commenting their opinion about controllers.

Typical. Smfh.

Games are inherently made to be played with whatever input method is available to the player.

Those tools aside, I found the cause of the problem and fixed it myself.. For some reason it was constantly switching between keyboard and controller, so I simply disconnected the keyboard and it fixed itself.
Mods can close this now.

What an unhelpful person you were a few years ago I hope you've changed lol. People have a right to play the way they want and also if software supports something and it's broken then it's broken regardless of what you think people should be doing or not be doing. This is a technical question if you don't have anything to offer then just butt out I don't understand why you even commented.

It depends on a lot of things, so lets go through the ones I cna think of off the top of my head.

-Windows has a feature to make usb ports go to sleep. Unlikely, but a possibility
-Damaged usb port, or damaged cable
-Damaged controller, try another one.
- Uninstall/reinstall driver for xbox controller
- someone on another thread said theres a steam setting for xbox controllers that might need to be turned off but I cant for the life of me remember exactly what setting. Worth taking a look if the controller is known good.
-If its wireless, and you're not using the xbox wireless adapter - then amybe thats why.
-if its wireless, and you are using an xbox usb adapter, its posible it needs to be re-paired, or the adapter is faulty, or the driver for the bluetooth adapter needs to be reinstalled
orrr the adapter needs to be replaced.
- if there is no adapter, but it is wireless, then it is certainly using bluetooth.
if it is using bluetooth, it is possible another application is conflicting with the bluetooth signal.
-it is possible the bluetooth chip on your MoBo is starting to fail.
-it is possible you just need to reinstall the bluetooth drivers on your mobo, or update them.
-Its possible you have another device that also is recognized by windows as an xbox controller. You can check in device manager for a potential conflict. I know that tactical commander game pads part keyboard, but with analog stick) is recognized in windows as an xbox controller. If you plug that in at the same time as your regular controller it can have a conflict.

Thats all I can think of atm. o7

If it's plugged in to a USB hub, try a different port. And if you have a lot of stuff connected, it could be a power issue with the hub. Unplug a few other items and see if that fixes it.

Otherwise, does the controller have the issue in any other game? Or just MCC

Old thread is old, but as I mentioned, it was switching between Keyboard and Controller when both were plugged in. At the time this seemed to have been a common issue, but has now seemingly been fixed.
And yes, those tools were tools and seem to haven't changed.
