Why do they release Halo Reach first?
Instead of original chronological release date? Like starting with Halo: Combat Evolved first.

Because reach is a prequel to Halo CE.

I think it’s because they projected Reach to have the most technical difficulties in porting.

Release Reach first, get it out of the way, release the rest of the games at a consistent rate.
343i is releasing Reach first since it's a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved and they're releasing each title in chronological order to ensure that they get each title right.

they are releasing it in order reach, 1, 2 ,3 ,odst, 4

And also so that they can have a common date to release Reach for PC and Xbox.

I would say ReBootXD's post is the most correct from a technical Point of View since adding all games at once is a bad recipe for disaster. But starting from CE first, marketing wise, you wouldn't attract as many people to that game nowadays, whereas with Reach you would.

It's because Reach was the only one not on the xbox one, and they decided to begin porting them while at the same time adding reach to xbox one.

they have stated before they are realesing the games in lore order meaning reach,ce,2,odst,3,4

They're actually releasing them in order of release, excluding reach which they're just including due to the xbox one port coming alongside with it. 3 is releasing before ODST.

I want to point that out as well. I guess the decision for Reach first is also a special favor for the Xbox One People, because and please don't be offended to this, the Xbox One Crowd especially in case of TMCC were the most loyal ones, so it's only fair if they include Reach to do it first so they've something from it as well, plus it gives extra money (for campaign/firefight - MP is freely included on X1) for 343/M$ on the Xbox Side as well, so it makes buisnesswise more sense.

You can buy them separately, but there's a discount for getting the whole bundle.

Yeah, but they release Halo 3 then ODST. If I correct - never palyed before) ODST set events between Halo 2 and 3, they still release AFTER 3.
Anyway, new or old fans it's wise decision to start with Reach. Since the first Halo game's story feels like you miss an episode.

The games will release in this order:
Reach > 1 > 2 > 3 > 3ODST > 4
