I am not as experienced in modding and wanted to spice things up for my second playthrough. Could anyone please give me any guidance on how I can install the wabbajack "outlander" modlist and make the game work with MO2? :(

MO2 is for experienced users, if you are new to modding, i would suggest leaning through Vortex, wabbajack and the outlander modlist is damn complicated for a newbie, hell it's complicated even for me and i used to use MO2, these days i just don't like over complicated modding so i just use Vortex, it's a bit less hands on, it's got the training wheels and just makes so many things easier, it's not perfect though and can still be pretty damn complex if you attempt to do other things.

Vortex is for users who don't want to use more than 300 mods, and MO2 if for people who want to overly complicate things with a few thousand mods, having to deal with each and every damn conflict known to man pulling out your hair with every annoying thing that comes at you.

sorry, but i have history with MO2 and it's a pain in the ass to use and learn, it does some things better than Vortex, but Vortex is mostly easy to use because it's less complicated, but just don't add in to many mods, like i said, if you are under 300 you will probably be fine, any more than that it will become complicated and be a pain in the ass just like MO2.

I have used Mod Organizer for a lot of years for modding Skyrim, Skyrim SE, Oblivion Fallout 3, New Vegas and Enderal and had a blast, I found MO to be easy to use if I kept it simple.
However I cannot Mod Enderal SE with Mod Organizer, The newest versions give error messages and the latest version I can get working 2.4.4 does NOT load the resource files and won't get to the Enderal splash screen. It then gets stuck playing Skyrim theme song until using task manager to end that attempt.

(the resource files E-sounds E-Misc E-Meshes L-voices bsa 's that give all the relevant data on Enderal are shown in Mod Organizer data files tab but the game doesn't recognise them. Thus I find Enderal SE useless for modding. I have played the original Enderal loads of times and had hoped to replay the SE version to be able to get the achievements again. Won't be as fun fun without the mods I've come to depend upon.

For OP if you want some advice on modding, there is a guide in this forum
"Enderal Special Edition Mods For Best Experience" I haven't followed it but you may get some helpful advice reading it

Outlander modlist seems to be outdated and not supported anymore,
the Path is essentially the same list, maybe use that instead:

Mod Organizer 2 is not that difficult as some people are saying, in fact it is pretty straight forward and there are enough tutorials on youtube, explaining how to do it.
I started modding with MO2 and never had serious issues.
I am also using MO2 for modding Enderal SE, it is working in my case.
You have to pay attention to the load order, but in many cases the mod description tells you where to put the particular mod.
And with a Wabbajack installation, the modlist is pre-sorted already, so nothing to worry about.

"You learn as you do and make mistakes".

Best you can do is to just start modding manually with MO2, that way you have way more control and it's actually quite easy, and it's much more cleaner compared to Vortex.

All you need to do is to add EnderalSE via the 'instance wizzard' in MO2 and you're done. Even works with SkyrimSE GOG + the updated version of Enderal not on Steam.

And you don't even have to follow this list 100% as you can just pick and choose what you want, that's what I did: https://www.nexusmods.com/enderalspecialedition/mods/535
