everything is included, you dont need anything else to make it run.
would also be really weird if you would need something else for a game on Steam to be able to run it, the whole point of the Steam version is that its a complete package that you can install with one click.
then why is Skyrim a requirement on the Steam store page? Enderal is not a separate game , it is a mod for Skyrim that you need to have in order to play.
its right there on the Steam store page for Enderal plus its not available on console for that very reason.
the team that developed Enderal cant even sell it because of legal reasons from using Bethesdas game assets...that is why its free.
It's simple:
--> Mod (changes the same game)
--> Total Conversion (turn a game into another game)
--> Standalone (can be used independent / separate from the original game)
Enderal is a Total Conversion mod made into a //standalone game// when it came to Steam, and comes with a modified version of Skyrim and a few mods, like SKSE and SKYUI and several others (you can see the list of included mods in a text file in Enderals folder). It registers as a single game on Steam and in all modmanagers (Nexus and Mod Manager 2 etc).
You only need to own Skyrim on the same account as per the license agreement with Bethesda (it's the same on GOG as well, where I also have Skyim and Enderal).
You do not need to have Skyrim installed or even manually mod Skyrim.
The only exception is if you get the package from the current maintainer(s), only then you need to mod your existent Skyrim install.
and in order for that to be possible it requires SKSE.
it may be included but it is still a requirement for the game to work.
this is the very reason it can not be played on console.
it would not work for me at all until i installed Skyrim , you have to own Skyrim and have it installed on your PC or it will not work. it says that right on the Steam store page and then you have to be careful if you mod Skyrim because they will also show up in Enderal as well and vice versa. granted you have to activate them but if you use auto install then youll get some major conflicts in your LO's for both games.
i found all this out the hard way...from personal experience.
Enderal is not a stand alone game it a conversion mod just like LCDA in Conan Exiles or any other custom map mod , just this one is more in depth than whats put out today and why its actually won awards and its own store page on Steam.
