Steam Deck Hotkeys

I'm playing Enderal on the Steam Deck and it's running very well. I even got a good ENB going and the game is running smoothly. But I don't seem to be able bind abilities to make the game controls easier. I can do the default F1 to F4 as set by SKYUI but I can't bind anything else. When I bring up the keypad to try and bind F5 for example, nothing happens in the menu. I can't figure out how to bind stuff in the favourites menu either. On my PC I would just click the ability and press 1 to set it to that key but they keypad does nothing on steam deck.

Any ideas?

I got it to work by downloading the mod Auto Input Switch. I will leave the post open in case someone has the same problem because it' wasn't easy finding what was needed just to set up a simple hotkey.
