Solved the 'no steam ui overlay' problem, for good!

If your game doesnt have a steam ui overlay just do this:

1) Launch the game
2) Click 'start enderal' in the small launcher window
3) Right after clicking that, quickly click on your taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
This will keep your taskbar shown while the game loads. When the game is loaded to the main menu, click on it and you will have complete ui overlay control when pressing shift+tab.

My assumption regarding this fix is about forcing the monitor to not switch resolutions when the game loads (a similar problem occures in Forza Horizon titles as their intro movies are set to 1080p while my monitor is set to 1440p, hense making the overlay appear bigger and disorganized as the resolution scale is tweaking its position).

Please try this solution and let me know if it helped!

For me you don't even have to race the menu. Alt-tabbing out of the game and then back again seems to do the trick even in the middle of play. If I understood what the problem is(shift+tab doing nothing besides freezing the game until one shift+tabs again)

I can confirm that this didnt work for me, but its good to know it worked for you and probably others too.

Haven't tried it yet but worst case scenario, devs have destroy the launcher if it loops into new launcher. Maybe Steam support COULD help code it better but that's where you hear a mute sing!

all i did was go into the settings on start enderal page and activated the controller from there and have had no problem with an elite seriers 2. (just remember to save in the bottom left corner of same page)

sorry for this not being related but the game is glitching out the all audio and I have to manually quit the game and re-enter. my head set is only one year old and still new, so don;t pin me!

i have tried all of these fixes none work. also i haven't earned any achievements. i just finished speaking to jasper and haven't even got the first achievement for finishing the intro. plz help

i literally just redownloaded the game to make sure my method still works, over a year after posting about it, and it still does (and its still buggy when not doing it).

has this issue ever been permanently fixed?

i get the steam fps counter from the overlay, but achievements notifications do not appear (but still count after exiting the game)

seems quite a fudge to have to mouse over the task bar during loading. especially when using a controller on the couch
