Missing something to activate mechanism?

This is a stupid question, but I am horrendous and I definitely skipped something. I'm in the beginning at the Old Temple in "A new life" and I can't find the thing I need to activate the mechanism? In the first room with the book and skeletons.

Next to one of the skeletons should be a key. It's pretty hard to see in the shadows but it's there.

there are actually two keys in the room, they are even slightly glowing.

2? never saw the 2nd one. does it have any extra purpose maybe? or just to make sure everyone finds 1?^^

that everone finds it. you can easily walk against the first key and kick it away.

Thanks! Could just be my graphics but its hard to see almost anything in there lol

ye i walk around with a least 10 torchs at all times

Had the same problem. That section is definitely not thought out, you can't see the key unless you know it's there. I couldn't find but one, among the skeletons, after reading this thread. It should be placed somewhere visible or in the inventory of one of the skeletons.
