Differences between SE and non-SE?
So.. I actually decided to get to playing Enderal: Forgotten Stories earlier today, and I just saw this pop up on my store page, and I was like.. "Wait a second, why doesn't it say I have this installed?"

That's when I noticed that this is the "special edition."

So.. Could someone clear up what's so special about it? I am struggling to decide on which one to uninstall.

well it runs on Skyrim Special Edition
Hmm.. Okay.. Welllll.. I guess we'll see if it runs on the skyrim I have, lol. I dunno. I'm too lazy to think about it.. It's probably some mundane difference.. You know.. Like, the special edition probably gives you an extra sword, a mustache, and an extra inch on your shmeckle.

The important part is the updated engine. Skyrim originally was 32 bit only and still used the really old DirectX 9 and that meant it had a memory limit that could easily be reached with mods, and Enderal put a lot of stress on that engine with its more detailed world and such, which apparently resulted in frequent crashes and low performance in some places (I have never played that version myself, though). The Skyrim Special Edition was mainly an upgrade to a newer, 64 bit version of the engine with DirectX 11 support. So, no more memory limit and better performance, as newer hardware can be used much more efficiently. The game itself was virtually the same, with only very minor gameplay differences.

Enderal SE is just a port of the original Enderal: Forgotten Stories to that newer engine, with no additional content.

for me it look slightly better... just slightly due to skyrim new updated ported engine. but its the same game.

the biggest thing it easier to run now less crashes... i say you can play it more smooth new..

It run so friggin smooth now compared to the old version. My frames would dip all the times under 60 and it would keep crashing here and then. None of that till now lol
