In the Krypt mode, both analog sticks are used like a 3rd person game and it's annoying to navigate without them which wouldn't be a problem, but there's a lot of crap in the Krypt.
A LOT of crap. It takes way too long to unlock everything in the Krypt, and with traps and giant spiders that can kill you in some places ... it sucks not having both analog sticks.
In the game proper, Fatal Blows are performed by squeezing both Triggers (or L2 & R2 on PS). Amplify and block are both shoulder buttons so you can hover a finger ready to press down at any time while the face buttons are attacks. It feels very natural and intuitive and feels off on anything else.
You could make do and make it work with other styles of controllers and even get good. But like I said, MK feels like it was meant to be played with either Playstation or XBox-style controller, so I wouldn't veer too far away from that.
