It's not that, they are just baby raging over the fact that the MK devs are no longer making oversexualized female characters. Kitana and friends used to be literally a sack of silicon on mk9, thank god they changed that.
She is supposed to use her sex appeal like a weapon, but here shes just ugly all the time, in all ways. Ugly face, ugly hair, ugly voice, flat body, she may as well be a drag queen.
Yeah I don't understand NRSs agenda to uglify all the female chars. Look at Cassie's legs, shes supposed to be like 20 yrs old but her legs are chunkier than Sheeva's for no reason.
So it's not like she went through some radical resdeign, in fact its more like NRS just took her back to her first design albeit with a few changes.
I think what bothers me most about this design - and others too - personally, is that it breaks immersion a little. What I mean is, these are characters taken directly from the time during MK9 in this timeline but yet a lot of characters' new costumes look nothing like the costumes there so it makes it harder to make that connection.
I think that the "tournament" costumes should look as such. I made a guide a while back comparing them too

well said, its the people they hired and the devs support for feminist frequency. they def made the males look more naked. The females still look like barbie dolls with no muscle, this is why you check employees social media before you hire them.
Kotal Khan is based on Mayan/Aztec culture. Traditionally speaking the males were shirtless so Khan being shirtless fits right in line with the culture he's based on.
Well as I far as I know they aren't based on anything. You said they can have an almost naked Kotal and I simply said well seeing as the character is pulled and inspired from a real life culture his attire is accurate.
It's a fantasy game and devs can do anything they want with the characters they created. The only thing I can offer here to those who are upset about it is to simply go out and crate your won skimpy babe fighting game. What's done is done and complaining about it is not going to make NRS change anything. MK11 has already when on to sale 8 million copies so it's clear the ones making this complaints are a vocal minority.
and even then i'll criticize and make fun of their silly backpedaling from previous female concepts.
genius
idk what tf makes you think that all of those millions are totally happy with the changes
