Is there anyway to block like tekken?

Hey guys, im a new player to mortal kombat, i always played tekken, and the way to defend in tekken is just by pressing the walking back button, which is the left arrow < in controller.
but in mk11 to defend i have to press R2 button, is there anyway to put defence and walk on left arrow at the same time? to play like tekken? cuz i just cant defend with r2 lmao
