Helping a beginner.
Hello everyone, I hope you doing well.

Iam totally new to the fighting games in general, and even after doing tutorials and trying my best in towers (cant really do past Medium difficulty) I just cant wrap my head around gameplay - getting wrecked by higher difficulties and online.

Of course I tried advanced tutorials (that Raiden one giving me particular headache) and I watched plenty of online videos with guides, it just feels very overwhelming and yes, I most definitelly suck. I dont have the best reflexes to be fair.

If you are still reading I would like to ask some (hopefully bored) veteran with plenty of time and patience to show me the ropes and teach me game or at least confirm to me that I have absolutely zero talent for this type of game.

Cant offer you much, just my unending gratitude and friendship :-)

Thank you for reading up to this point and have a wonderfull day.

Mike

New guy here too, I suggest picking one character and mastering / learning them.

I was jumping between characters back and forth and that's not a good way to go in my opinion, you get even more overwhelmed. Once you learn how do combos, special moves and eventually chain them together on one character, it's easier to learn others since you will have the basics.

I would suggest Noob Saibot and Skorpion, these were my first two picks. They have somehow simple combos and simple special moves.

I would (personally) avoid any characters / special moves that have stances (like the Erron Black one, that just killed my brain)

Story is pretty good but there is the issue of switching characters frequently (every 4 battles or so) so again, you have to constantly check move lists.

Also don't be afraid to tag moves, it helps a lot.

erron black is so braindead character to play you dont need to use stances to play him unless you want higher combo dmg for like 20% more or close to it + potential crushing blow from it. overall there is a lot of characters that are super easy, this game is easy to pick and play just pick 3-4 characters and try them in training, test moves look for combos and practice practice and again practice, if its hnot going well change to another form your 3 picked its simple rule but this GAME IS SO EASY that no matter what you will pick there always will be a variation/set of moves you are able to use, this game is so friendly for newcomers.

My bad then, when I tried Erron for the first time, I saw the stance and I went WTF.

Is there any other beginner friendly chars you'd reccomend?

I tried Noob, Skorpion, Mileena and Fujin, my latest hero to play would be Kollector who I picked up just now, he seems....quite strong maybe a bit too strong.

all characters have skill setups/variations playable for all. From heroes you mentioned the easiest is kollector, easy combos for 30% ++ dmg has some teleports little dmg over time skills etc, but will you handle his look on long run , he is ugly, skorpion noob and milena are on same skill to play them, just it is a matter of preference, all of them can go heavy dmg variations from combos or some more tricky canceling skills playstyle or just rushdown / some zoning( not scorpion), fujin you must try his all skills and decide which work for you he is specific he has medium dmg combos mostly but the really easiest characters to start with easy combo, and starters from just hit confirm is liu kang, sub zero, jade, joker, robocop(zoner),cetrion(zoner),sonya(she is more like kollector, same logic while playing + strong zoning), jax(you dont need combo to win just mix + some zoning, basic strings) but i will recommend you to pick 3-4 chars and play them more games + a lot of practicing, pick the ones you like idk from movie or you like how they look or anything which will decide you like it-> playing will be more enjoyable and learning it's weak and strong sides, the thing is you must spend time with your picks in practice, some online some vs pc and you will start understanding oh i can do that oh i cant do that right now, oh that is a punish bla bla bla, game is easy srsly just poick char and spend some time in training tool, rest will come with time

Ok thanks a bunch!

I'll stick with Saibot, Skorpion and Kollector....started to try Erron in Towers and Practice...he can have some simple but nasty mixups.

You could try Raiden (don't worry, he is not as hard as his tutorial).
He is a versatile character, offers you fast mids (F3 and B1 are 11f), those strings are great staggers, you have a nice strike/throw game on F3 and options on his B1 string, he has some good ranged attacks (F11, F2, F4), a KB punish on 121, good projectiles, great corner carry and pressure, and a great counter-zoning tool on his teleport, that also works for strategies.

On his downsides, his movement is not great but his range and teleport make up for that, and that you need to have the teleport on his abilities when an extra slot could have taken him to the next level.

you dont need bilions of dmg combos to win with others, you just need to find ur style, you can play as example noob saibot very big dmg build from combo, and you can also play him with medium dmg combo build or more little zoning skills added to tool, srsly man whatever you pick, you just need practice + expirience.

Please explain, what are the F3, B1, 11f etc. I am so lost each time someone mentions them

That's an universal notation for controller's buttons, so no matter which controller you're using, you'll know which buttons are mentioned, like on a combo guide, check out the image below for a reference.
