So I dunno if the Humble version is different or what.... but I just wanted people to know because I wish I had known.
I felt happy to get the complete version for 25, but now I am really unhappy because I won't play an incomplete version and I never wanted a $50 version in the first place, so really the whole thing was just a big waste of money and bandwidth to me and I'd save others in a similar situation from falling into that bait-trap.
If I had known that the complete version was actually $50 I would have bought After the Fall, Doom 2016, Control Ultimate Edition, Dread Halls, VR Slugger, Hot Shot Racing, Doom & Destiny Worlds and a 12 oz Red Bull instead.
shao khan was a preorder bonus
skins are just that, skins
ultimate has the most content relative to the price, there's no package that has more content
on sale it goes for like 15 bucks
That is the only and entire point of my post. The "Ultimate Version" currently on sale for $25 on Humble is incomplete and requires an additional $23.96 worth of purchases in order to be upgraded into a complete version.
So, if someone is interested in MK11 they should know that buying the ultimate version for 25$ doesn't get them a complete game. They will need to spend another $23.96 in order to access a complete version of the game.
Cool. Lucky you.
I purchased the bundle from Humble and redeemed on Steam and an additional $23.96 of spending would be necessary to access the complete version. I wouldn't have wasted the $25.00 had I know that the "Ultimate Version" required me to spend twice that in order to access the full game.
I wish I had known this before making the non-refundable purchase, but it is very unclear and the title of "Ultimate" is rather misleading, so I thought it'd be good for anyone looking into the purchase to be able to access this information upon searching the community for posts about DLC.
Your comment really confused me because I know that there can't possibly be a difference between the ULTIMATE EDITION purchased on Steam and the ULTIMATE EDITION redeemed on Steam and purchased thru Humble. That doesn't even make sense. I knew something had to be wrong.
It turns out that the version Steam installs is not current. I was anxious to play after the download and I rapid-fire skipped thru the zillion notifications that the games first run spams at me.... including the one that warns me that I can't join MP til I update and offers to update.
After going back to the game and updating some things had changed. lol
The DLC nag that I had to spam X at is gone. The shopping cart dollar signs near Frost and Shao Kahn are gone. Shao Kahn is available. The only notification I got was that the game didn't recognize my GFX Card and an offer to autoconfig the game.
So Thank You for breaking that down. I may honestly not have come back to it for a good long while otherwise.
I still think it is important to note that the skins are not included in the ULTIMATE EDITION, but with the nags gone and the two characters accessible or obtainable in game.... I am happy again. lol
Thanks again!
It's worth checking out.
Thanks.
