Is this the worst mortal kombat game ever? Mk9 was really good hard to play even harder than this mkx was dumbed down but nowhere near as mk11

I think fighting games in 2004 gave us already the option to change COLORS at any time we want. Now we have to grind for them and treat them as separate assets. Ok.

What about outfits themselves? Let's say Frost. I waited 8 years to see her in MK. I got the current abomination. Half Cyborg, half garbage.

I remember when MK9 gave you AN OPTION to switch between Human Cyrax/Sektor and Cyborg version. What happened to that? I though MK11 was innovation? Yet I see less options, than 10 years ago.

What about content? Towers of time. A.k.a Test your luck, multiplied by 1000

Where is Test your sight? It was a good mental exercise and they could have improved it, by adding more to it? No? Better makes us grind through CHARACTER TOWERS for that one color, that you liked? Ok. What about Chess? Karts? Tetris? No? Just grind? Ok.

Speaking of grind. Intros and outros are pretty nice. I wanted to get of them for Frost. There was just a tiny problem.

I needed to do 600+ fatalities to get them... First Mortal Kombat game to butcher Fatalities so bad through grind, that now I feel physically sick by looking at them.

I won't even talk about the butchery of LORE. I understand a lot of people don't care about it, as for them it was just a fighting game, but a lot of people that invested their time in it, got treated like idiots. Yah. That Sindel retcon is a crime against human intelligence. Especially, as 16bit tried to tell us, that it is an actual lore and not a joke.

Or Skarlet who got her backstory and character changed 3 times.

Or the amateur writers that can't write a consistent story, to save their lives.

Yes I agree with most of this but you act like there aren't revealing outfits...If you talk about default costumes, it's the same fullfilled with armor costume for almost every character in the game.

Also, like I said before...I'm against forcing political stuff in games but as soon as they don't affect the game, I couldn't care less...I dont care if jax says anything about being woke in his ending (which isn't even canon) nor for shao kahn saying "i will make outworld great again"...You can see these lines (especially shao kahn's) as troll as well...I personally laughed when he said that...What I prefer is to keep is the great story (yea yea there were some retcons for the better)..They didn't force a female full of muscles edgy protagonist or anything like that..They even made Shao Kahn (the supposed tyrant) to be the main character in Aftermath and a twist in the end with Shang Tsung...So after playing the whole story, instead of talking about the great acting, twists, dialogues etc...You guys prefer to keep 2 lines, one of them being non-canon and have nothing to do with the story...Well played there, you outplayed yourselves...

If a fighting games worst critiques are "they changed lore" "i can't have dirty name" "skins suck" then I think it's in pretty good shape. I'm here for the mechanic and so far I have liked it. I haven't seen a Mortal Kombat movie since the second and I haven't played the game after the third, so to me as a "veteran" the story has been fun reunion with familiar faces, all the over the top dark humors is still in the games finishing moves and everything just works. Looks amazing, sounds really cool, music is more passionate than for comparison in Tekken 7. Having a good online experience with the community so far. To me MK games have hit a renaissance after MK X and this one I just had to jump in with too, bit late though but that just lowered the entering fee for me. This isn't a rant against anyone, I just try to offer a different perspective. Only gripe I have is the size of the game, with 4k pack it was something like 138G download for the ultimate.
