I've learnt how to do it now, but instant doesn't quite cut it when expressing just how fast you have to input every move.
In MK9 and MKX, I also couldn't pass the "Test Your Might" challenges (i.e. press "A" as fast as you can) without getting a pencil and rolling it on the button with my palm, so my bppm (button presses per minute) are just bad all around.
I also heard once that you're supposed to press 211,2+1 (that's what that "Super" player says), but that doesn't work for me very often.
and yeah, i'd imagine musicians would have great hand coordination and usually they have to be fast depending on the song, so it checks out.
Are you sure it's Luddy Mussy? b2 u4 222? I ask because I got it first try (and I'm not an Erron Black player), and I get it with 100% accuracy, and there's nothing special about the input window. I can take my time and do it at half my usual speed and it still comes out. I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything; I'm just saying I think you're doing something else wrong and you're mis-attributting it to speed.
For example, are you pausing between u4 and 222 (ie, waiting for the kick to connect)? Because the 222 will not come out if you wait. You have to do 222 right after u4, and if you want to be safe you can just mash 2 right after u4 and keep on mashing until he shoots them out of the air.
Or are you letting go of up before hitting 4 (or hitting 4 before hitting up)? It should be back+2, up+4.
After messing around in practice mode trying to fail that combo, those are the only two points of failure I can come up with. The point is: it doesn't have to be done very fast.
Worst case scenario, turn on inputs, record yourself trying, and upload it. We can figure out where your'e going wrong.
The thing with that one is 21 registers and will come out. The problem is the rest of the combo (212) all has to be inputted before the original 21 comes out for the combo to trigger. There's no inbetween. Or in other words, if you do 212, it's the same as 21. 2121 is still the same as 21. For really fast inputs on a controller, yeah, sliding your thumb back and forth (or some variant) is the best option unless you take "the claw" approach and hover your fingers over the button. The down side is you might trigger an interactable by that mistake since that input is 1+2, and sliding across 1 and 2 you're bound to have both down at the same time.
You might try hitting 2 then sliding 12 and sliding 12 again. Might make it a bit more consistent.
I find it impossible to do if you're sick though, anyone with the cold or influenza or something is gonna slow down and not be able to imput most of those moves.
