I really hate "X-ray moves" they slow the game down too much
I almost avoid even using them, I get why they are there, and i like the idea of them, but they are too long, almost all exactly the same. and take off slightly too much damage (I think 25% or so would be better)
they are just annoying to watch every match, and they have ZERO originality every single one is just stab in the eyes for 20 seconds.....
not only that? They make fatalities feel pointless.....cutting someone's head off feels kind of pointless after stabbing them in the eyes, breaking their neck , skull and crushing most likely half the bones in their body....
they just ruin the game as they are. They should be short, fast powerful attacks. break and arm, leg okay. that makes sense.
they need to tone them down, make them faster and not make finishing moves feel pointless. I have hated them for a long time now seems they are hell-bent on going on in on them, don't know why...

You could deactivate the framelock up to 60fps for cinematics:lunar2019piginablanket:, but there's no option to make them not lame af.

It's for sales. In the 90s if you wanted to do an impressive looking/damaging combo you had to put in the time and effort to 1. Execute the Combo and 2. Land it in the middle of a match. Now it's "Look at this awesome thing you can do and it does a ton of damage AND ANYONE CAN DO IT!" It's a sales gimmick mostly for people who are going to buy the game, play it for 2 weeks, then never touch it again.

At least in X and 9 they were tied to meter, and there were better uses for meter. Now when it's ready, you might as well use it because you can't spend the resource elsewhere. On the bright side, you're limited to 1 per match whereas theoretically you could do an XRay each round in MK9 & X.

But it's just how things are. Most fighting games have some overblown supermove in some shape/form. If you really hate it, the old games are still around.

yeah i did not think about it that way, I like them as a way to turn around, but it needs adjustment just shorter, lil less damage and there you go. These things should not be twice as long as fatalities plus too many people seem to depend on them vs pulling off a nice combo

I agree, Fatal blows are WAY too long and become quite annoying to watch repeatedly.
Unfortunately they are way too useful practically so are going to be seen nearly every single match.

Shortening the animation about in half or tying it back to meter would help a lot but It's not gonna happen.

I really wish they would do a proper reboot, I love the fighting mechanics of 11, I like that they toned down the over-the-top sexuality (although they should have skins just cause) . but they are not going far enough,
simple changes like blood only when face hits, or with weapons (and a lot less) tone down the fatal blows about 200% make them quick and violent but not worse then fatalities,
then make the fatalities more dramatic/realistic so it has that same impact MK1 had when you built up the tension to that final blow,
they keep the fantastical elements.
well see what 12 brings, but i do like the direction they are going, story mode was a 10/10 for me

I agree the fatal blows are lame after a few times, but sometimes it's life changer, I had games when I was about to die, did a fatal and won the match. The idea having a life saver bigger blast is great, although I agree the animation is pretty annoying to watch, I wish it would be nice and quick like it was in MK9, it was devastating but like 2-3 sec.

The sad part is that the X-Ray Moves are actually more Enjoyable
then Finishers right now...

The Finishers are not that Great at all...

I'd much rather have the Finishers be Gory, Messy, Dark, Gritty,
& Violent... Then to have X-Rays do this for me, & leave the
remainder of my Enjoyment lacking in the more favorable Finisher Moves...


Most of the Current Finishers are a boring waste, while X-Rays
get all the Enjoyment...

& not only do X-Rays take too long to be performed, & take the Fight
away from the Gamer, but they also slow down the Computer by
a ton, if your PC can't handle the Stress from them...

I agree X-Rays should be short quick, & Simple to the Point
during your Fights, maybe something bad happens, like a broken Bone,
or so... I didn't like them ever since MK9 was released...

But none of this really matters if the Finishing Moves are utterly
Un-Enjoyable at all to Perform... Bring back my the idea that
Finishing off my Opponents will be worth Performing, & worth
waiting for at the End of each Match...

Make them Enjoyable again, you did it with X-Rays, why
do my Finishers have to Suffer, my Fights all lead up to them
at the End of the Match, so I need something to fight for,
getting it Mid Match, just makes absolutely no sense, & confuses
the heck out of me why you would want to go that rout to start with...

i was really shocked they went as far with them as they did with mk11 I was under the impression not many people really liked them.....its sad cause they put all their effort into the Xray moves/fatal blows w/e than the fatalities .
they need to get this back on track for 12

Agreed. I think everyone else already said what I was thinking. Xray attackes take to long, do too much damage, are way too easy to execute, and usually look better than the Fatalities.

This might be a little off topic but I just wanted to say I love Brutalities. They are quick and brutal. Maybe they could somehow make Xray attacks more like that.

Yup, they're annoying in all modern fighting games. They look flashy and cool like the 1st time you see them, after that they're just annoying and it's especially bad how in MK11 everyone gets 1 free one to use every match, at least with the previous system where it was tied to the super meter it made most people online never use it since you needed those bars to do combos,breakers,wake ups and what not.

Not to mention you could easily get X-Ray damage mid-screen with 1 bar of meter with every character.

I totally agree . when i pull them off on accident its like damn....it has the same feeling as mk1 finishing moves . id be cool if fatalities where just that simple.
however I do love the ones that go crazy like the Terminators some creative stuff ,. but the slash ...cut...yeah they need to do better for 59.99 + DLC next time

Just deal with the fact they are part of the game and like or not like is a personal choice. I found much more annoying some Erron Black and Kotal Khan INGAME moves is extremely repetetive and long, at least Fatalities and Fatal Blows is one time thing and much more cool. Personaly I use Fatal Blows to take a break for my hands during fight, or trying to tap all QTE hits to protect/attack extra 0.5 hp, during fatalities and connecting servers (can take about 10-20 second at the end of the fight) I use Steam Overlay to some notifications check, so I don't see any problems at all, especially problems that big that can drive me crazy like some extremely inpatient people I mentioned above.

That and the time to really complain was ~ten years ago when the cinematic super move was first starting to settle into fighting games. Now it's expected.

If someone REALLY hates the cinematic supers that much, it's not like older fighting games magically disappeared.

you make it sound like theres a choice, I only posted this to see if i was the only annoyed with them, its not like I expect them to see/care about a steam post.
