Base game vs Ultimate edition

Should I buy Ultimate edition for 60€ or just get only base game? I mean, is it worth getting dlcs for additional characters? Are they really worth it since there is a very noticeable difference in price?

If you enjoy the story and get sucked in like I did, Aftermath is great. I started out with just the base game thinking I wouldn't care about all the extra stuff...now I'm kicking myself wishing I would have got Ultimate edition because all the DLC by themselves are crazy expensive.

I think the Aftermath Story is nice, but for the rest not really worth it.

I don't care about the story, will play online only so I don't know if I should get only base game or ultimate because of characters?

Some guests are good, rambo has some decent moves and Spawn has great damage and range.

Wait for a sale on the Ultimate edition. Trust me. Your gonna kick yourself in the balls when you find out that you paid money for the ultimate edition, just for them to release another version of this game.

Will you be happy with just the base roster? There are 24 base and 12 additional. Also, Shao Kahn which is a separate purchase if you only get the base.

The majority of the new characters are good. Robocop and Nightwolf are said to be on the low end of various tier lists but if you like them then it won't matter. People play Shao Kahn and he's rock bottom. Plus you will lose the majority of the skin packs.

The extra characters are worth it. It's fun to explore which ones you enjoy. You get Robocop, Spawn, Terminator, Rambo, lots more. The extra story is also pretty cool.

It's also cheaper to buy the Ultimate Edition than the base game and the extra dlc, even when they are all on sale.

Yes, it's worth it if you are a fan of the game.

Easy choice. Just get Ultimate edition. All the costumes alone if bought with krystals individually cost way more.

Well you can consider the DLC characters are pay to win to some extends. Don't get me wrong, they're not super OP, but you rarely meet them playing online(at least from where I am) and once you meet them, they make you confused because you're not gonna have enough time to learn their playstyle. Normally you can practice with AI but since you can't choose DLC chars unless you owned them, you're fked

"Another version of this game" is suggested for new players as whole bundle at time. Everyone else just have to buy smaller new DLC similar to season pass. Waiting for "another version" or "complete version" on sale means you will miss every single offline and online event with unknown chance to see it again.

I'd recommand getting Ultimate but it all depends on the time you want to dedicate to that game.
