If you really wanna add to the list, MK9 doesn't have online requirements for offline content like MK11 (all the towers can be done offline etc.), No server requirements
The only thing I really miss from MK9 is tag mode.
One thing I agree with you is that there are too many guests and I especially don't like that NRS is constantly choosing guest characters with guns and without martial arts knowledge which don't fit a fighting game.
But microtransations here are purely optional, game size on a disk hardly matters and all the points about story, fatalities and heart and soul are really subjective.
Besides netcode and balance are not the parameters when I am speaking about the identity of the game. MK 11 has no identity, it does not feel or play like an MK game. There are too many weapons and almost each character is defined by two weapons. In the past sub-zero was known as the ice guy and now you can call him "the guy with axe" (THEY EVEN REMOVED HIS ICE CLONE) and Scorpion "the guy with katanas" and Sonya the woman with drone (God they even removed her iconic move leg grab).
And almost same goes for every other character they are just defined by weapons nothing else.
Classic looks don't matter that much to me as I often like to wear some new skins.
Your argument about weapons seems weird to me.
Scorpion had various kinds of swords in every single MK games starting with MK4 (except for MKvsDC). He had them in MK9 and MKX as well. He still has his signature moves in spear and teleport and is easily recognisable.
Sub-Zero had various ice weapons since MK Deadly Alliance. He had a whole variation dedicated to that in MKX which had swords, daggers and hammers. This time there are axes and I don't see a problems with that. He's still an ice guy and has some classic moves in slide and iceball. Yes, the clone is gone and good riddance. Sub-Zeros spamming iceballs behind a clone were extremely boring to fight against and definitely are not something I'll miss.
In Sonya's case I'll agree that they went too far with changing her but to me she feels better to use here than in MKX.
Also plenty of MK characters are "defined" by their weapons - Kano, Kitana, Jade, Baraka, Shao Kahn, Kabal. It's not something new.
Generally speaking it's just difficult to me to understand what do you mean by MK's identity because MK11 feels nothing like MKX, MKX felt nothing like MK9, MK9 was nothing like the previous games. Even MK3 is very different from MK2. Drastic changes are a common thing within MK series and are to be expected.
I guess MK11 simply doesn't give you some nostalgic feeling that MK9 did but that once again is very much subjective.
A good counterpoint against that is the fact that NRS clearly didn't know how to model women's faces back then. Also the fact that most of the women looked like roid freaks with their excessive muscles.
With that said I missed Sonya's old gameplay, she had some cool combos that only existed in MK9. They took that all away in MK11. Also Erron Black was no substitute for Stryker.
Except on Playstation where they also had Kratos, and he SUCKED because of Sony's garbage restrictions on the character (and was probably the reason they wisely stopped doing system exclusives). One of the biggest cases of wasted potential.
This is one of the best points IMO. Guilty Gear XRD, DBFighterZ, and Blazblue Cross Tag Battle all are under 10GB in terms of HDD space on console (probably PC too but I didn't check). Can we go back to those days? And also get rid of crappy uncompressed cutscenes?
